1992 Volvo 240 / 5 Speed/ Rust Free Southern Car/. No Reserve
1992 Volvo 240 Description
I've at least five of these brick Volvos and this is by far the most reliable. It sat for several years due to a no start situation. After diagnosis by my mechanic, it was determined to be a bad computer. Being a 5 speed, this was not easy find, we we were successful and the car started right up after installation. I had the following replacement parts/maintenance performed before putting it on the road:
4 New Tires(less than 4000 miles on them)All fluids changed including transmission.New front brake pads and rotorsNew front inner and outer wheel bearingsTune upNew Front headlight assemblies due to fadingNew front door pocketsNew center consoleNew battery (2018)Newer stereo (am/fm cd)Belts and hoses as neededThis car always starts on first crank and I would not hesitate to drive it cross country. The power locks work as does the manual sunroof. No oil leaks and does not use any between oil changes. Five speed transmission shifts smoothly.
This car was purchased new from Don Beyer Volvo and has always been a Virginia car. The original paint is in excellent condition due to this car being garaged most of its life. With that being said, the car is 27 years old and is not perfect. The interior is in excellent original condition. (Non smoker)
The following items may need attention:
Driver side power window works but is a little slow.Heated seats do not work. (Passenger side may work)No rust but has chips, scratches, dings.Cigar lighter/charger not workingAir conditioning was replaced several years ago but did not work last summer. Heat and defrost work great
I'm only selling this because neither my wife or kids have any interest in learning to or driving a stick shift.
The is a no reserve auction and for serious bidders only. Car is garaged in the Richmond Virginia area and available for inspection prior to bidding by appointment.
