I acquired this garaged classic from the second owner of 35 years, Tom Adams, a longtime Blue Ridge VCOA member whose dream was to bring this car to show-level quality. He took her a long way toward that goal and I have continued her on that journey.
The following cosmetic work was done by him:
Total re-paint in ‘Electric Currant Red’ including wheel centers; carpet, dash pads and upholstery, front and rear window and quarter rear window rubber, powder-coated intake manifold, chromed head cover.
The following mechanical work was done by him:
Springs all around, shocks, trailing arms, brake pads, fuel filter, center support bearing, brake lines with brake hoses, rebuilt engine (3K miles), front control arm bushing's, ball joints, upper control arms, engine mounts, stabilizer bars, stabilizer links and bushings, idler arm, tie rods, transmission mounts, starter, solid floor pans, U joint.
I have done the following in the last 24 months:
Oil temp, engine temp and oil pressure gauge sending units, Bosch alternator, regulator and fuel pressure regulator, points, plugs, wires (blue), IPD gas tank, fuel sender, trunk and doors weatherstripping, transmission and engine re-sealed and bearings replaced, Mike Eck rebuilt clock’, Seatbelt Planet retractor rebuilds and re-webbing to match car, clutch, pressure plate throw out bearing, re-machined flywheel, teflon turn signal catch ring. Cold A/C, smooth-running and shifting power train, beautiful clear-coat, functional gauges. Small new area of surface rust on lower passenger quarter panel, app. 3" x 10"
