Volvo AMAZON, model 122S. Perfect restoration candidate or a little "dreaded TLC" and this is completely roadworthy. Private owner in SE Tennessee, I bought this to restore, but do not have the time.
Was running and roadworthy last summer. Old fuel pump crapped out, so I let it sit over the winter. Cranked & it started last weekend, didn't drive it though, but I can't getthe damn thinggoing again. Now I'm facing the ultimatum: "That car goes or you go with it!!!"
Clean, transferable title. Registered and currently insured.
Body is straight and virtually zero corrosion.
Motor is the indestructible Volvo B18 1800cc. Basically a Swedish tractor-motor-block with modern compression. (Note, this is the type engine in Volvo's record-setting 3 million mile P1800).
Installed new fuel pump and new fuel filters. Just replaced (2 weeks ago) master cylinder on clutch, but haven't bled the line (and do NOT intend to), probably also could usea new clutch slave cylinder ($50.95 here on Ebay.) Have new-in-box Bosch spark plug wires, new Bosch super-plus plugs, new Fram oil filter, new water pump (current one works fine), thermostat ispulled outand is working fine (planned to boil it to test temp where it opens - THAT didn't go over too well in "her" kitchen.) Have Haynes Volvo 120 manual, Chilton's original "Repair & Tune-up Guide," and original Glenn's Volvo 122S guide.
Right driver window off-track & down. Never got the guts to take off the door panel to fix.
Has the SU dual-carbs***********I believe this is where my "no-start" problem lies.

VEHICLE HISTORY: This is a VERBATIM description of this vehicle as I bought it on Ebay last April 2015. Sold by an engineer from Rensselaer polytechnic institute. Amazon came from rural Virginia:
1965 Volvo 122, four-door sedan, red with black interior. Nice looking, good driving old Volvo Amazon. Starts easily, runs great, and shifts easily through all gears. Brakes and clutch work as they should. I recently went through the car mechanically and rebuilt the carburetors, flushed the brake and clutch fluid with all new fluid, cleaned the points and set the dwell, flushed the coolant, etc. Oil change was done recently. Newer water pump, hoses, and motor mounts. I removed the cylinder head and did a valve job, and replaced the intake/ exhaust gasket and head gasket. The driveshaft, U-joints, bearings, and rear end are all in good operating condition. The exhaust was replaced with a resonator and exits from the side of the car, in front of the rear wheel.
Tires are in good condition, 165/SR15's with whitewalls, all four hubcaps, and the rare beauty rings. Wheels are in very good condition, straight and not rusty. There is no spare tire in the pictures to give a better shot of the trunk.
The body and paint are in good condition. All doors, hood, and trunk open and close solidly, windows roll up and down, etc. The paint shines nicely, though it has the usual small chips at door edges, a slight crack at the bottom of the nose, and a few small places where the paint is a bit thin. I'd describe it as a good "10 footer". No major dents or other body damage. No visible rust on the body, and the undercarriage is in very good condition for the year. There is rust through on the bottom in the driver's side floor and side support, which can be seen in the picture. There is also a small hole behind each of the rear wheels, pictured, which is fairly common. Otherwise, the floors and frame are solid. Even the spare tire well is solid, which is a common rust point on these cars. The chrome on the bumpers is faded and dull, but the rest of the chrome, stainless, and aluminum trim is in good condition.
The interior is in usable condition, but could use some help. The seats have splits and cracks as shown in the pictures, though they are still comfortable and supportive. The worst is the typical area on the top of the back seat where the sun bakes the vinyl, and it is dried and cracked. The dash pad is cracked and peeling up at the edges. The door and window cranks and handles, steering wheel chrome, and dash switches have pitting on the chrome. The headliner is sagging in the back, and has some rips along the seams. The door panels are in fair condition.
