1968 Volvo Other Description
1968 122s survivor! Car started out life in California, then went to Iowa when the owner moved there. The car has been off the road since 1999 as it was planned to be used in the event of a full Y2K event. That obviously didn't happen so the car sat until we purchased it from the original documented owner.
Along with decades of receipts and the original manual are documents of service history backing up that this is indeed a 98k original mile car.
The car starts and moves under its own power, however it does have one brake that sticks and will probably need to be rebuilt.
As for the rust, what you see is what you get. As in, the floors are actually good along with the headlight buckets. Essentially all of the rust the car has is on top, which is typical of 'coast cars' (IE it coming from California). Aside from the hood, it is a fairly rust-free survivor car. These cars have fairly thick steel so you should be able to sand down the hood or replace it if you choose.
The drivetrain and all mechanicals are pretty good. I'd love to keep it but am looking to a Mopar project and would like to see somebody rescue this one. Like I said, the car has been off the road for years so don't expect the world. It's an honest survivor but not a creme puff.
Included with the car are a few things I bought for the project including some new seals, new locking Volvo gas cap, new air cleaners to support converting it to a dual SU carb setup, shop manual and so on. Nearly $400 in new parts to get you started.
Buyer responsible for shipping.
Car will need to be local pickup in Linden, TN. Car should drive on/off trailer (we will help you load it).
