full disclosure: here's the full story of this car since I've owned it since 2001 or 2. I paid $500 for it. it had 4 new tires. it was also smoking and made a "budda budda budda" driveshaft noise when the back seats were weighted. I replaced the turbo and the u joints. fixed both issues. moved back to austin with then wife in 04. ac compressor died in 05. had twins. drove it in texas heat for 11 years with no ac. transmission died in 2012. dropped one from a junkyard and put it in. bypassed the radiator transmission cooler- since this had failed and contaminated the old transmission. new tranny seems like limited slip, better tranny. finally replaced ac compressor in 2017. yay, ac!!!!!. then car had weird no start issue in 2018- drove me crazy. finally replaced distributor/ hall sensor- second time. car drove great until i got in a fender bender july 2019. thought it was minor, and it was, just body panel damage- but it had cracked the radiator. car overheated in stop and go traffic in downtown austin. got it towed home. filed insurance claim against other driver, ordered new radiator from rockauto. replaced driver fender with one from pick n pull. put in new radiator, flush and filled system, replaced oil with new full synthetic, drove car for a month. head gasket seems fine, oil/ coolant not mixing. was on the way to pick up my twins from school Sept. 9th. car died at intersection, would not start. timing belt not broken, fuel pump working. AAA towed home. I have given so much blood sweat and lost hair to this car. I just can't do it any more. the motor will need some work- most likely new timing belt, maybe some new seals. it IS a project car. it may just need a new coil to get spark, and could be driven. in my heat addled state, trying to diagnose it, i took the distributor off and replaced it with an old one I had lying around. didn't help, and now the timing will need to be reset- not a big deal. you could drop a junkyard motor in it, or put in a V8. My wife and I now have 7 cars, and need to get rid of some. I just don't have a garage to work on it, and the heat is killing me. plus I have three sons, type 1 diabetes, and am a cancer survivor. In other words, I'm not in my twenties any more, and car repair won't be fun for me until I have better facilities to work in. if no one bites here, I may list it on craigslist locally, or part it out, but I would prefer not to do that. I have put a lot into this car.people have asked about rust- body is in good shape- was a california bay area car. mild climate
