1984 Volvo 245 with the single round / flat hood conversion. Has been an awesome car, but my plans have changed. Ibought this car last year with big plans of building a race car.It was originally purchased for a v8 swap, but the current turbo set up runs too good and is too glorious to tear apart.
The overallcondition of the car is just wonderful. Clean body, single round headlight conversion, no factory roof rack (no roof leaks!) Unfortunately the odometer is broken at 297k and has been for who knows how long. Below is everything that has been done to the car:
Suspension
- IPD lowering springs
- IPD torque rods (poly bushings)
- IPD panhard bar (poly bushings)
- IPD 25/22 Sway Bars
- Bilstein Touring shocks
- 17” Pegasus Wheels with 25mm spacers
- New tires
Engine
- Lh 2.4 update (wire harness and all accessories)
- Turbo ECU and EZK from 940 Turbo
- 395cc Injectors (blues)
- IPD turbo camshaft
- 19t Turbo 3” angle flange with zero shaft play (not the typical 13c or 15g)
- New braided oil feed and return lines for the turbo
- Oil pan with PROPERLY welded bung for turbo oil return
- Manual Boost controller set to 12psi
- Upgraded alternator to 100amp Denso
- Timing belt and tensioner
- Plugs and wires.
- Brake Master Cylinder
- 940 electric fan and controller
- 3” downpipe with bung for AFR sensor
- fill new exhaust with magnaflow muffler and silencer
- Custom 300hp capable clutch disk from Tampa Clutch
- New sachs turbo pressure plate
- STS Machine Lightened flywheel for LH2.4 redblock-
Yoshifab Motor mounts
- m46 transmission with working over drive
You get the idea here, I am sure I am forgetting things but, almost everything on this car has been checked, fixed, updated, maintained
Interior
- Entire interior was removed, washed with oxy clean and hot water, let dry for 2 days then completely resprayed from Tan to Black with 16 cans of Dupli-Color Vinyl and Fabric Spray (minus the front seats and front of rear seat)
- Volvo 240 GT seats in the front (these were in the car when I bought it)
- White headliner in great shape, very clean
- New Pioneer Headunit
- New Kicker speakers all around.
- Wired if for an amp/subs but I never put one in
- Original Volvo Triple Gauge pod with Voltage, Glow Shift boost gauge and Oil Pressure. Oil pressure gauge is not hooked up
Odds and Ends
- Rear wiring in the tailgate done on both sides
- New headlights (NOT sealed) so the bulbs can be changed
- new windshield
- Newer wiper motor out of a 93 240
- Trailer Hitch (came with the car, Ive never used it)
- New fuel pump relay, in tank pump, and in tank assembly
The Ugly
- Dash is cracked up. But the dash mat hides it all nicely
- Armrest in the front works fine, it holds arms, its just cracked a bit (pics)
- Front part of the back seat is pretty bad. Still comfy, just super dry and flaking away. Unfortunately this is how it came. I had the seats in back down 95% of the time I owed this car so it never bothered me.
- Hood is starting to show its age. Works fine, opens, closes, hides the engine, but the guy before me never had clear put down on it, and it is showing its age both on the topside and underside.
- left tail light cracked
In Summation…
This is a 35 year old wagon with a very straight bodyand only afew tiny dings (about the size of a nail head), doesn’t fluid leaks on the driveway and already has ALL the upgrades that would typically be done to any 240. Yes there are rock chips here and there, a couple very small dents, but overall the car looks pretty amazing for its age. I have tried to as strait forward as I can about the condition. I am sure I am forgetting things done to this car over the think you get the idea, A LOT of time money and love has gone into this 245. I would trust this car to drive anywhere.
This is a no reserve auction. Bid to win!
