1990 Volvo 240 DL Description

Volvo 240DL. Florida car. I bought his car in 2010 from the original owner. He named the car Silky for its ride quality and the name stuck. The car is stored at a vacation home in a garage and since sitting isn’t necessarily good for a vehicle there is an annual service at a local Volvo specialist. Since I’ve had the car I have replaced the timing belt and water pump, brake job with new rotors and master cylinder, valve cover gasket replacement, transmission fluid flush and maintenance, and air conditioner system refurbishing. The leather interior is in very good condition except wear and tear on drivers seat (photos available) and the Florida heat has been tough on brittle interior plastic pieces. There is an entire interior trim kit that would replace all of these parts. The passenger fender was replaced by the owner and there is surface rust on the passenger C pillar. Otherwise the car is clean. The odometer stopped working in 2018 but all other gauges work, cruise control has not worked since I purchased the vehicle and air condition has stopped working. I suspect the air conditioner just needs charging, because after repairs it blew very cold for a number of years, but I cannot be sure. Again besides those issues everything else works and the car runs strong and dependable. I have taken it from visits to friends in Northern Florida to camping in the Everglades and Silky never disappoints. The storage is cavernous and the carrying capacity is almost equal to having a pick up truck. Use this car as is for a safe, tank-like daily driver or invest a few thousand dollars and have a show version of a car with a huge fan base. Contact for more photos, service records or questions.
