V-performance quote on the dual Mikunis: Compared to SU carbs, a similarly sized Mikuni HSR will flow 30 - 40% more air. They will provide better throttle response, support more power - especially at higher rpms, and will equal or exceed the SU in fuel economy. In road and dyno testing dual Mikunis have equaled or exceeded Weber sidedrafts in power while getting 50% better fuel mileage.

New paint - just repainted a lighter shade of metallic green last November. No bodywork done at the time.

I purchased the car around 1998 in Raleigh with the original plain green paint. It had NC sunburn, so the top, trunk, and hood were stripped to metal and painted the late 90's Volvo 850 Green Metallic by a local shop

There is no known damage history, and the lines are straight as shown in the pictures.

There are panels welded in over the floorboards on both sides, along with new jacking struts so there was some historical rust.

Garaged the last 6 years, a high quality breathable car cover was used before that.

For a history of the vehicle:
Volvo produced the 1800 series starting in late 1961 and ran through 1973. The P1800 series was a two door coupe produced from 1961 through 1963 in England with an 1800cc engine (B18). It was then moved to Sweden and manufactured as the 1800S or P1800S through 1969. In 1969 the B18 was upgraded to a 2000cc engine (B20) with more hp. In 1970 it became the 1800E or P1800E and had Volvo's first attempt at mass production fuel injection along with an upgrade to four wheel disc brakes. The final variant, the 1800ES or P1800ES was introduced in 1972 as a hatchback. Just less than 50,000 cars were manufactured in the series, and the car was featured on the TV show "The Saint" from 1962 through 1969, driven by Roger Moore before he became James Bond. It is also known for the highest certified mileage driven by the original owner in non-commercial service by Irv Gordon, now over 3 MILLION miles on his '66 1800S.

I will end this auction early if the car sells on another classic car site first.

The only non-functioning items are the clock (never seen one of the originals that still works) the oil temperature gauge, and the radio doesn't have a speaker as indicated above

Registered and insured, with a clean and clear North Carolina title in my name.

Inspections are encouraged and welcome by appointment.
