I bought this car around 2002 and owned it for several years, putting 100k miles on it. I then sold it to a neighbor who drove it for a couple of years, then her kids drove it, then it sat. A Volvo-enthusiast friend then bought it and fixed it up: new cross-drilled rotors, painted calipers, rebuilt head, cold-air intake, ipd plugs, euro fender markers, lowered it and painted it. The car was given a new lease on life. Now he has moved out of the area and left it behind for me to sell.
A great, reliable car.
Some point before I bought the car, the right rear quarterpanel was replaced. Clearly the welding was not up to par, as evidenced by the pictures: rust in the tailgate area and at the bottom of the back door where the panel was attached. There is no other rust on the car, which is very solid.
The only issues are the headliner, which is pinned up, but falling down from the sunroof, the split seams on the driver’s seat, the power door locks do not work, and the paint on the roof is beginning to fade.
This is a good, strong car which is fun to drive.
