1947 Willys CJ2A Regular Description

1947 WILLYS CJ2A VIN #J150735A, this is a civilian jeep dressed up as a WWII JEEP (it is NOT a WWII jeep) with 45th Infantry Division markings. The unit marking on front bumper are from my Oklahoma National Guard discharge after they discovered I was underage. It would be great for taking veterans for a ride in a parade, or use for hunting and running about town to just have fun. It starts, stops, shifts and runs great. My eight year old great-grandson didn't have any problem driving and shifting it, just had fun. It is equipped with winch and gun rack for hunting and off road use, has military NDT tires on original 16 inch wheels. Three coats of original WWII OD color paint inside-outside and underneath. 12 volt electrics with 12 volt battery and 12 volt gauge, 12 volt alternator and high torque starter. Has lockout hubs on front axle, all lights work, horn works, has non original KN breather filter, appears to have original speedometer with 62194 miles showing, but there is no way to verify those miles, has invasion stars to represent invasions the 45th made, jerry can and holder, black vinyl non original seat cushions (on modified original seat frames)and rear seat, the wheel well behind driver's seat has been modified so with a little work the seat can be put back some. It does mark it's territory as usual. It does have some hat channel rust, but not to bad. It's not perfect, but inpretty doggone good condition, a can of spray OD paint and small container of touch up paint will beincluded. I will be doing detail touch up until it is sold.Surely I have missed something good or bad in this description and there is no warranty expressed or implied, after allit is 70 years old. I will answer all questions to the best of my knowledge. It does have a clean clear Oklahoma title, Oklahoma tag. Shipping costare the responsibility of buyer, I will help where I can. A $700 deposit by PayPal with in 48 hours, balance in certified funds in five days and must clear my bank before vehicle can be picked up or delivered. I reserve the right to end the auction early if reserve is not met because it is listed for salelocally.
A LITTLE INFORMATION ABOUT THE $45th
The 45th Infantry Division was an infantry division of the United States Army, part of the Oklahoma Army National Guard, from 1920 to 1968. Headquartered mostly in Oklahoma City, the guardsmen fought in both World War II and the Korean War. They trace their lineage from frontier militias that operated in the Southwestern United States throughout the late 1800s. The 45th Infantry Division guardsmen saw no major action until they became one of the first National Guard units activated in World War II in 1941. They took part in intense fighting during the invasion of Sicily and the attack on Salerno in the 1943 Italian Campaign. Slowly advancing through Italy, they fought in Anzio and in Monte Cassino. After landing in France during Operation Dragoon, they joined the 1945 drive into Germany that ended the War in Europe. After brief inactivation and subsequent reorganization as a unit restricted to Oklahomans, the division returned to duty in 1951 for the Korean War. It joined the United Nations troop on the front lines during the stalemate of the second half of the war, with constant, low-level fighting and trench warfare against the People's Volunteer Army of China that produced little gain for either side. The division remained on the front lines in such engagements as Old Baldy Hill and Hill Eerie until the end of the war, returning to the U.S. in 1954. The division remained a National Guard formation until its inactivation in 1968 as part of a downsizing of the Guard. Several units were activated to replace the division and carry on its lineage. Over the course of its history, the 45th Infantry Division sustained over 25,000 battle casualties, and its men were awarded nine Medals of Honor, twelve campaign streamers, the Croix de Guerre and the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation. 45th INFANTRY DIVISION was known as the "Thunderbird Division"
The division insignia is a golden thunderbird on a red square. The thunderbird is a symbol of the Southwestern Indians meaning sacred bearer of unlimited happiness. The Spanish colors, red and gold, indicate that the four States (Colorado, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arizona) represented by National Guard units in the division was settled by the Spaniards. Each side of the square represents a State.

I did forget one thing: There is a nice used complete black vinyl top with doors and all hardware to install that is included if the buyer wants it.SORRY (I WILL NOT INSTALL IT), I just don't like tops on the old jeeps.
