With the correct L134 ("Go Devil") motor and 3-speed transmission with overdrive, this Jeepster drive fantastically. From 1948-1950, Willys-Overland produced the Jeepster in an effort to move away from simply utilitarian vehicles and offer a fully-capable vehicle that wold appeal to the passenger automobile market. Providing several standard high-level features that were options in competing models, Willys hoped to capture consumers attention a utilitarian vehicle that had a greater luxury feel. Though the Jeepster was well regarded by those who owned them, little advertising and a limited dealer network led to the vehicle being phased out after the 1950 model year.
