1948 Willys Jeep Description
I purchased this old Willys from the 3rd owner out of the little town of Perry, Iowa. He was a WWII Vet and used it to haul is living WWII Vet buddies in local parades. The previous owner used it the same way. The top was installed a couple of years ago and is in great shape. This old Jeep has fully functioning turn signals (with indicator light), brake lights, 4 way flashers, heater, defroster (a hose from the heater), original working vacuum wiper motor, front seat belts, custom seat cushions in rear, oil filter, original oil bath air cleaner, new 6 volt battery, new fuel pump and has just been serviced. I drove it last week. It starts and runs good. Brake pedal is hard but they work. This machine was originally a gun metal gray color with 15 inch orange wheels with black pin stripes. It was rattle can painted several years ago and looks like it. The tub is very solid with just a little rust in one of the braces under the drivers floor pan and a couple of other small spots here and there. All the lights work. All the gauges work except the gas gauge sticks sometimes. The heater works good. There is one small crack in the drivers side windshield in the lower right hand corner. The tool compartment is solid. The horn works. I will assist with shipping however all cost will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please call Darren @ 515.202.7162 with any questions. The trailer in one of the pictures is a 1949 Supreme and will be available in a separate auction.
