1945 Willys Jeep Modified Into M38 MB Serial Number 1953 Hurricane Engine T-90
1945 Willys MB Description
Let me start by stating the obvious, the Willys has been modified. I have already heard it all, "that isn't a Mb, etc". Also, I know the start price is too high. Better to go down than to go up I always say.The Willys is an MB, with a MB serial number on the pink slip. The jeep was first sold in 1947, so it is registered as such. The first look at the dash, and you can tell it was, at one time, an MB.The story on the Willys is a bit unusual. It was modified to look like a M38 for movie and tv use, but at its heart it is a MB.I had no intention of ever selling this jeep, as you can see from the personal touch I added for a fallen family member. However, life has a way of getting in the way, so here it is for sale.I will do the best I can to describe the Willys.I bought it in July, 2015. The same month I put on brand new tires. They have very low miles, and the jeep has been in the garage since July, 2015.The windshield and glass were added after, and the paint doesn't match. The engine is a 1953 Willys Hurricane motor, and the jeep has a T-90 transmission. The oil pressure, and temp gauge works, as well as the speedometer and voltage. The fuel does not.I took it off road once, and the 4 wheel drive stuff worked. The rear end has a Detroit Locker as well. The rear springs didn't have the securing pieces, so I had to ad my own. They have held strong for 2-1/2 years. The engine didn't fit right, so it sits a bit higher than a flathead, and there is no room for an air cleaner. The generator was professionally rebuilt 6 months ago, and the regulator was also replaced new.The jeep is registered until October, 2018.The seats are hammered, and the rear is missing the lids or doors, thus the ammo cans and the rations box. they will go with the jeep. The footlocker is also going with the jeep. It is a bit rough. The jeep leaks as any old car or truck does, but not to the point where I have to add fluids all the time.I drive it, and have driven it, every weekend for the past 2-1/2 years.Overall, it is just a driver. It, like any old jeep, could die tomorrow, or it could drive for another 20 years. It is sold as is, no warranty, and no guarantees. It is an old jeep, and is sold as such. This is a cod only auction. The jeep must be picked up within 7 days of auction's end. Payment must be received within 7 days.If the payment falls through, the deposit is non-refundable.No bidders with less than 10 feed backs.I will work with shippers, but only after I have cash in hand. I will not take the jeep anywhere however.
