1948 Willys CJ2A Description

I bought this Jeep in 2005 from a father/son team that used it in WWII re-enactments. They are the ones that converted it to military appearance. Paint, tires, canvas covered seats. I added the bikini top. It has a newer F4 134 ohv 4 cyl engine that I believe was used in early Jeep trucks & wagons. That engine has a tall carburetor hence the ugly "box" on the hood. Not my design, I do not know when the engine was changed. I had it on the road in upstate NY for a couple years. It ran great, was a blast to drive but the brakes were scary. I began a complete overhaul of the brakes when a divorce placed all my projects on hold. It went into inside storage for the next several years. I have since moved to North Carolina & brought the Jeep with me. But I have too many other concerns so need to clear my plate a bit. It is currently not running but the engine is free. Upper radiator hose is missing. Exhaust is intact. It is still a 6v system. Lights & gauges did work but no guarantees now. The tires are still like new, no issues, spare never on ground. The brake system was completely disassembled, all parts sandblasted & painted or replaced. New shoes, rebuilt wheel cylinders, new master cylinder. Most steel lines replaced, front wheel flex lines replaced. But other flex lines not. The brakes are not functioning as they still need to be bled & shoes adjusted. All wheel bearings inspected, cleaned & repacked. New grease seals on all four corners. The body has rust but still basically solid in my opinion. The driver's floor has been patched. The tool box below passenger seat is intact. The frame appears to be intact but has been welded on over the years as these vehicles tend to be with various attachments.Everyone has their own opinion on rust and I encourage your own inspection of this vehicle. The windshield is cracked with some rust in the lower part of frame. I cannot verify mileage, it is what is showing. I have all receipts since my ownership. There are two jeri cans, a jeri can external mounting, and some misc spare parts. included as well as repro service & parts manuals. I have a transferableNY registration in my name. NY did not titlevehicles until 1973. I've tried to be as accurate as I can in the description, but may have unintentionally overlooked something. I believeif someone were to get this running & the brakes functioning, it could be driven as is or of course taken to a higher level. Please ask any questions, thank you for looking.
