It’s time to part with my very first street rod. I bought this in 1982 right out of high school. Over the years it has morphed into what you see here. It is still street legal, plated, and insured. Boxed frame rails, original leaf springs, original steering, Dana 44 rear, 3.73 gears with mini spool, front straight axle out of 70s postal Jeep, never was 4wd-hence the DJ2A model,1947 split window frame, original gas tank with Holley fuel pump, 355 Chevy with .558 lift, 108 degree Comp cam set up, roller rockers, stud girdle, ported double hump heads with chamber work, rams horn exhaust manifolds with flow masters, victor jr intake, 750 double pumper, Stewart warner gauges, Auto Meter tach, turbo 350 with TCI street fighter converter 3000 stall, hurst quarter stick with line lock, custom driveshaft, Lakewood traction bars, custom 4 row radiator with original tanks, all steel original body-paint showing it’s age, about 34 years old now, runs high 11s in 1/4 mile at 112 mph, midto low 7s in 1/8 mile at 96 mph, drives straight, M&H dot rear tires, Hoosier quick times on front, wheelie bars. If you want to keep racing it, it will need new belts and window net depending on the track raced at.
