I purchased this very nice'71 Spider in 2014 from a long term owner. It has the original 1750 Spica injected engine with fewer than 10,000 miles since being rebuilt in 2009/2010. This is the only year with the square tail and 1750 engine and there aren’t many left in this solid, nearly original condition. It’s a great drivingcar, starts easily, drives smoothly and true with plenty of power. I have a folder including receipts for extensive work performed by last two owners. The paint color is British Racing Green and is overall in very good condition, with a few blemishes as shown in the pictures. It was stripped down to bare shell for repaint in 2006 as far as I can tell from the notes. Gaps are good throughout with doors, hood and trunk opening and closing properly. The cloth top is in very good condition with a clear rear window. The motor starts easily, holds good oil pressure hot and cold, the trans shifts easily. The interior is beautiful with the seats reupholstered in attractive cloth, providing comfort in both hot and cool weather, along with more support in corners. The dash has no cracks and the rubber mats were replaced when the interior was refreshed. The original Turbina wheels, including the spare, have been powdercoated in silver and fitted with YokohamaES700tireswhich have about half tread remaining. This '71 Spider is one of the best and smoothest driving Alfa I have ever driven and needs nothing to be enjoyed as is. Current mileage is just under 109,000 miles. My wife and I have collected Alfas and have owned at least 30 over nearly 40 years. We currently have too many cars and it’s time to start thinning the herd.
