1969 AMC AMX Description

Up for sale today is a beautiful 1969 AMC AMX. I would like to start by saying this car is in exceptionally good condition, but is not 100% perfect, as it is restored but still 47 years old. I will describe it for you the best i can, but it is recommended that you come and check it out for yourself just in case there is something that i may have overlooked unintentionally. Please make sure you look at all of the pictures very well so there are no surprises when you get this car. This is being sold "AS-IS" with no warranties or guarantees. THE EXTERIOR: The paint is very glossy all around the car, with very few imperfections. There may be a few small scratches in the paint, but nothing that i could point out or that stands out at all. As seen in the pictures, there are some imperfections in the paint next to the passenger side headlight. I also noticed that the rear window has scratches in the glass. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Then engine compartment is very clean, without evidence of any leaks. Everything appears to be either original or a restoration quality replacement parts with the exception of the carburetor. I am not an expert on AMX's, so please make sure you inspect the pictures well. DRIVE TRAIN: The engine seems to run very well. There is no blue smoke on start up, no ticks, knocks, or physical issues. The carburetor is aftermarket, and lets the engine runs smoothly with plenty of power. The transmission shifts firm with no slippage. INTERIOR: The interior is in restored condition, and looks amazing. The seats and side panels have been reupholstered and look great! Both windows roll up and down as they should. The gauges all seem to work besides the RPM gauge, not quite sure why as i didn't look into it. The radio only works when it feels like it. it could be an internal problem or a loose wire, I didnt look into this either. The door interior and exterior door handles work well. The locking mechanism works, but the little plastic levers feel loose on the locking shaft, so they are finicky to use. Passenger side one is cracked on the bottom where it sits around the locking shaft, which is why its loose, the drivers is just loose from age. The cigarette lighter works as it should. This car is NOT equipped with factory air conditioning. The windshield wipers work, but in high only. The carpet appears to be brand new, and has no fading, but there is a melt mark behind the drivers seat on the floor. It in an odd shape and im not really sure what could have caused it. IT IS NOT A CIGARETTE BURN, and it can be seen in one of my pictures. The only other thing i noticed is that when you recline either of the seats, there are no springs so they will just recline(fall) all the way back unless you hold them to where you want them and then engage the lever. Just so there isn't any confusion, the seats DO recline and they DO lock into different positions, it just seems as they are missing a simple spring so they don't just "fall" back, but i did not inspect them any further so i'm not 100%. Other than what i just wrote, the interior is in amazing condition. UNDERSIDE: The underside is in amazing condition. There isnt any rot. Everything appears to be in great condition. TIRES: All the tires are in good usable condition and do not have dry rot. I measured all of the tread depth: front left 10/32, front right 10/32, rear left 8/32, rear right 7/32. Overall this car is in amazing condition. Whether you want to trailer it, daily drive it or just keep it in your garage and stare at its beauty, it would be a great addition to any type of car enthusiast's collection.
