1971 AMC Javelin SST Description

Not many of these left in this solid Body.

1971 American Motors Corp Javelin SST 360 4 speed! Title says 67,xxx miles, Clock says 44,242 miles. Not sure. Sat in Storage for like 30 years!!! Was a time capsule with what appears is the original drive train. Engine and trans never separated as far as I can tell.

Body: pretty much rust free(except lower rear quarters and inner underside rockers) Rockers look good from outer side, inner are rusty but not visible from outside. Roof is solid and smooth, no obvious dents or doinks or grooves. Windshield surround is very nice with no rusty look or even rusty coloring under or on the chrome trim! All Chrome trim is on the car minus the rear driver quarter trim and a wheel opening piece. And the Chrome trim is NICE! Nice smooth Hood opens and closes easily and tight. Body lines on the hood, doors, fenders and trunklid are all good and original looking! Fenders are good, Driver side is NICE, Pass side is solid, with a dent repair that needs smoothed out. But it is the original fender!!! Tailpanel is nice. Taillight chrome is "ok" driver style rating. Grille(decent) and Front Bumper comes with as does the front pan, which is nice. Option is the Luggage Sports Rack on the trunk lid!

Motor: 360HO seems to be the original, based on age and year stamp in original factory paint. only made for 2 years! The motor and trans have never been separated as far as I can tell. The motor turns over by hand FREELY!!! using a socket and long handle socket wrench on the crank through the pulley. I will be throwing new oil and filter, a distributor and a starter in it this week, who knows!!! Comes with Fresh rebuilt Hurst Competition Plus mech and beautiful rechrome handle/original ball.

Interior: Its complete, but needs some work. See pics more can be emailed. Comes with Tic-Toc-Tach. Gauges are nice and clean. Bezel is missing.

These AMCs are coming into their own. Restored versions getting upwards $30K+ This one doesn't need a whole lot to complete, restore and finish!
