1970 AMC Ambassador SST 2dr hardtop
1970 AMC Ambassador SST Description
I have had more enjoyment out of this car than any that I have ever owned. This car is always a hit at the cruise-ins.Anywhere its driven itgets attention due to the color and its rarity. I purchased this car a few years ago on ebay. It was already painted and I have the original pictures before paint of the car and I couldn't see any rust damagein those. I have always maintained it in a garage or carport covered. I replaced missing"turtleshells" on backs of seats with newreproduction ones, added new carpet, replaced front suspension bushings, added new kit of front disc brakes from "Scarebird", new brake master cylinder and power brake booster and painted the suspension and rotors, drums etc. to enhance street appeal.I also added headers, an Edelbrock performer cam, Edelbrock aluminum intake with Holley four-barrel carburetor, painted the enginegreen also.It is a pleasure to drive, and the soundfrom the glass packs coming out the sides is sweet.
Bumpers are driver quality, a re-chrome would be nice to compliment the paint. It has some padded dash sun distortion, and squeaks and rattles as most classics have. The original gauges and "idiot" lights, are temperamental, so I added under dash gauges also. Speedometer is a little fast, which is a good thing, it helps avoid tickets. It's a 46 year old automobile and overall is dependable, but not perfect.
If you haveany questions or you would like to see or test drive, please email me. I have it for sale locally also, so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
