1965 Austin Healey Sprite Description

I have owned this car for nine years. It is a fun car that's great for country back roads. Restored in 2007 and garage kept since, has not seen weather.Selling because we are moving out-of-state and I will no longer have the garage space for multiple collector cars.
The Mk III is a great choice for fans of these cars. It retains an earlier style metal dashboard, lovely seats, and a removable convertible frame that keeps the cockpit looking open and clean. You also get roll-up windows, a trunk and a larger engine versus the earlier cars.
Bare metal restoration (2007)
Rebuilt suspension (2011)
New convertible top (2013)New interior (2015)Rebuilt 1098 block with 1275 head (2007)Dual SU carbs
Tonneau cover
Electronic ignition
Powder coated wheels3.9 rear end
No weird noises or smoke. No rust. Starts and runs great.
I replaced the steering wheel with a smaller one and removed the gas pedal. I'm 6'2" and these made driving and getting in/out of the car a little easier. I still have the original wheel and pedal and they are in good shape.
All original gauges work except oil pressure -- an aftermarket replacement was added underneath the dash. Mileage indicated is not accurate, speedometer cable was faulty when I purchased the vehicle, it has since been replaced and works fine now.
This is a great looking car, but it's over 50 years old and not perfect. The rear main has a small leak when running (I'd guess a quart every 1000 miles or so.) The grill is slightly bent. The paint has some slight flaws here and there if you look up close. This is not a concours car, but a very nice looking driver and cruise-in favorite. It may have other needs I am not aware of, again, it's 50 years old.
I'm available to discuss the car -- if you send your phone number I'd be happy to give you a call back.I can be a little flexible on pickup, but please make arrangements with me ahead of time. I will be at my present location for a limited time, so all sales final. You are welcome to check out the car beforehand or hire a local British car specialist to take a look -- no tire kickers after purchase PLEASE!
