1959 Austin A40 Farina Description

1959 Austin A40 Farina MKI

-Truly a survior car. Complete with all of its original components.

-Car has been in dry climate storage since the late 1970's and not driven. It will start and run and drive.

-VIN# AA2S6113773

-Milage on odo: 45,769 . Actual Milage on title: 45,766

-Stock 948cc 4cyl motor. Runs.

-Trans "pops" out of 2nd gear under load.

-Has drum brakes, but have invested in the disc conversion which has not been installed yet. The calipers, rotors, pad, shoes for rear, etc are new in the box from Moss. $500 reciept.

-Runs and lot drives. Has a few typical small oil drips I would expect for 56 year old motor.

-Interior is complete. Carpet has some aftermarket shag. Dash pad is cracked. Headliner has holes.

-Electrical system appears to be okay, functional.

-Chrome and trim in fair conditon but complete.

-No radio

-38MPG, top speed of 66mph according to research.

-Tires were new in 2013 and never been on the road. Hold air good, no dry rot.

- Body is in excellent condtion. Solid car. Has no holes I can find, just surface rust in a couple spots on floor under carpet. Has been resprayed at some point in its life. Paint is dull but could possibly buff for a glossy "patina" look.

-LHD, RWD, Gas motor, 4 speed manual. Spare and jack complete.

-The design was by Pininfarina of Italy. Very unique 2 door hatchback, rear window is stationary from factory.

-Overall this is a great car that looks different than anything else. Easy to locate. buy parts and restore or maintain. Part of the reason for selling is because I just don’t have time to build it and need to thin my collection.

-I purchased this car in 2012 from a collector, where the car was stored indoors for decades. During my ownership it has stayed in a climate controlled facility in Louisville, KY where it is titled clean and clear in my name.

-Inspections are encouraged and welcome at the storage facility in Louisville 40299 M-F 9-5 by appointment. Thanks for looking.

-Not interested in trades, can provide a shippers information I've used in the past. Will sell overseas and have a loading dock for shipping containers. Reserve is low, plan to buy if you bid!
