1964 Austin Healey Sprite Sprite Roadster Description

**PLEASE SCROLL DOWN THE AD LISTING PAGE TO VIEW A COMPLETE SET OF DETAILED PHOTOS OF THE VEHICLE**Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this well-restored Austin Healey Sprite. This car was recently purchased from a local Southern California family whose grandfather owned and restored this car. It was his pride and joy.The paint and bodywork on this car present very well and were properly prepared most likely by a professional paintshop. It's a basecoat/clearcoat finish that is tough, very glossy, with a uniform finish all over. There are some minor stress cracks showing in the fiberglass hardtop along the driver's side. The car's panel fit is very good all the way around with a really great body, attractive brightwork, and a fitted set of racy headlamp stoneguards. The car's interior trim was restored in quality black vinyl with nice comfortable seats with fitted seat belts, restored dashboard, black carpet and panel kit, and custom steering wheel.Mechanically, the car is in fine fettle. It starts easily on the pull cable, runs well with good oil pressure and no smoke. The improved gearbox is a desirable five-speed unit that shifts with delightful precision. The clutch bite is more of the "on-off" type, which I'm sure is typical of these upgraded gearboxes/bellhousings. The car runs and drives well, with positive steering, good brakes and suspension. The car is fitted with new mini-lite alloys and grippy radial tires that allow fun and fast cornering. It is sold with all of the accompanying spares pictured, including a Monza exhaust tip, original steering wheel, car cover, books, and some leftover restoration items.Overall, a very nice restored Sprite, that is rare in such fine condition, with a mild and tasteful competition flavor. Clearly this car was a labor of love for the previous owner, and is excellent value today well below it's restoration costs. Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions. The description above is general in nature and not to be solely relied upon by buyer. Buyer to verify authenticity, matching numbers, condition, year, model, make, type, rarity or provenance and all other relevant information. This car is sold with a clear title and is available for inspection by appointment. This car is located in Southern California, 35 minutes (30 miles) from the Los Angeles Port of Long Beach.KURT TANNER MOTORCARS909.241.1051 – CELL949.734.6904 – SHOP
