Up for auction is a 1982 BMW 320i w/ only 72,000 original miles.
I acquired this car for a payment that was due to us and have no use for it and that is why I am selling it. It’s a fun little car and I thought about keeping it, but already have enough cars. Its ready for a new home!
The 320i is starting to become a rare car especially with such low miles. The values of these are starting to slowly creep up and this car will surely only go up in value from here. This car would make a great driver or even a restoration candidate to bring back to its glory days.
We ran a Carfax on the car and have no reason to believe that the mileage is not accurate.
Items we addressed in the process of getting this BMW ready to sell included:
Tune Up
New battery
New fuel injector seals
New spark plugs
New hoses to address any vacuum leaks.
New fuses
New brake light switch and hazard light switch.
New Headrests (headrests in the auction images have come apart at the seams, you will notice. That is why we replaced them.)
This car runs and drives good and is really a lot of fun. No smoke from the exhaust and no leaks from the engine.
The 5-speed gearbox and clutch are in great shape and operate as they should, shifting easily through all of the gears.
The car comes with original owners manual and service booklet. Also includes the original and complete tool kit and factory jack.
The exterior is in really good shape and holds a older respray that has held up really nice over the years. Its still has a great shine and only has a few minor scratches, rock chips, etc. The car is rust free apart from a very small (dime size) rust bubble on the corner of the driver side door. Can not even be seen unless you are looking for it. The underside has the normal light surface corrosion that these older BMW exhibit, but a very solid car overall. All the exterior lights, side markers, blinkers, etc. work.
The interior is complete and original. The dash exhibits a few cracks, but is covered up by a dash cover. Door panels are in good shape, as is the center console area. The carpeting is original and does not have any tears and is in great shape for the year. Headliner is in great shape and sun visors are intact and in decent shape with the normal foam padding disintegrating out of the visors. The manual sunroof works great. The driver's seat bottom has a 6 inch tear, but otherwise in good shape and the passenger seat is in good shape with no tears. Rear seats are in ok shape as well, they have a few minor tears and are sun baked. The heater works great. The A/C blower works, but does not blow cold air. The rest of the A/C system has not been checked out. I am sure it will need servicing to work properly. All gauges work correctly as well as the gauge lights. Door windows wind up and down and the hinged rear quarter windows open correctly.
Everything works as it should with the exception of the radio, which seems to turn on, but no sound. Maybe an easy fix.
Overall, this 320i drives good on the road and I wouldn't hesitate to take it on a longer driver. It is fun to drive around town and is comfortable on the freeway with no vibrations. There is a slight vibration when getting on brakes at higher speeds, but otherwise, brakes work fine.
This is a very cool classic BMW that is cheaper and more modern than the older 2002 but rising in value.
