1953 Buick Skylark Convertible Project in Rare Color Combination
1953 Buick Skylark Description
1953 Buick Skylark project in rare Reef Blue color combination. I picked this car up in Southern California with the intention of restoring it, but came across a restored car in the same color, so I will now sell this one. I am selling the car as I purchased it. I will do my best to answer any questions but I did not take it apart. I encourage the serious buyer to come out and inspect the car.
I was told by the previous seller that the car was complete, but have not taken a part for part inventory. The only missing parts that I see are the radiator and carburetor.
I was told that the bumpers were rechromed. They are good driver quality but not show quality. Most of the stainless trim has been polished, though there are a couple that weren’t and a few pieces that are bent. Windows frames and steering wheel are damaged. Paint is okay for driver quality but is not show quality.
Car came with a complete 1956 322ci engine and transmission, minus the carburetor I mentioned earlier. Was told it was running fine at the car at the time the car was disassembled. I do have a complete and correct 1953 skylark 322 motor and transmission that is rebuilt and highly detailed on a stand that I would be willing to sell separately for $4,000. This correct engine is complete air cleaner to oil pan and is located in Michigan.
This car was much more solid than most 50s convertibles before restoration. The original interior shows the car never sat out in the weather or got heavily deteriorated. Does have new windshield in box. Also has what the previous seller called a factory continental kit.
The pictures show all of the parts that is have for this car with the exception of a maze of hydraulic hard lines for the windows and top.
