This is a 1955 Buick Special 2 door hardtop that is a fairly decent exampl, still needing some additional finishing to be a good driver quality car. The car runs, drives and stops fine. The car had been painted before I got it, but I have detailed the engine compartment while the 264 nailhead engine was out for rebuild. Much of the chrome work was re-finished, and the car has a new carpet and several new lenses and emblems installed, including a set of new reproduction portholes in the fenders and wheel cover centers. The fenders, as Buick folks will note, are not the original for a Special, which should have 3 per side instead of the 4 that this car has.
The brake system has been gone through, and the gas tank has been removed, internally cleaned then sealed. The tires have good tread but are older.
The things that are needed on the car include door panels and rear interior quarter panels. The original ones could be repaired, or possibly new ones should be made. New kick panels need to be finished (the new boards have been cut out. The headliner has one small hole and sags on passenger side. The seats have after market seat covers that look presentable. The visors need repair. Some of the dash has been refinished, but more to be done. The lighting all needs testing. The trunk could use some more refinishing.
While the car looks pretty nice, there has been body work done on the lower parts (before I got the car and before it was painted), that someone may want to improve. Some of the stainless has blemishes, pictures show areas at rear wheels. I had a new windshield and all new side glass installed in the car.
I have a Pennsylvania title for the car, but not in my name. I will also provide a notarized bill of sale and any other documentation that I have.
The car needs some further tightening of bumpers and grille, and I show in the pictures a couple of paint chips from shop wear. There is a can or two of some red spray paint for touch up that matches pretty close included.
