1926 Cadillac 314 Seven Passenger Touring Car
"Acquire the new 90-degree Cadillac and you come to the end of your quest for the utmost in motor car luxury and elegance."
This 1926 Cadillac touring car is a beautiful example of what was certainly one of the finest cars of the late 1920's. Very well documented car that has been preserved and cherished for nearly 100 years. This car has all owners documented all the way back to 11-30-1925 when it left the Cadillac factory. It was quickly put into service with the Conway Bros Sightseeing Service operating out of the Alamo Hotel in Colorado Springs, CO. From 1928 through 1935 this vehicle left the Hotel at 9:00 a.m. daily to transport tourists to the top of Pikes Peak and back. Around 1935 the rest of the Conway Bros fleet of vehicles were disposed of but this particular Cadillac was retained by the hotel, stored and maintained at the Markshefel Adams Cadillac Agency in Colorado Springs. The car continued to be used to about 1953, shuttling tourists from the railroad station to the Hotel and back. From 1953 to 1974 the car no longer was in daily use but stored by the Conway family in their own wing of the Markshefel Cadillac Agency. In 1974 it was acquired by a local auto enthusiast, lightly restored, and sold again after his passing. The next and last registered owner continued to enjoy the car in the Colorado Springs area until he was no longer able.Currently, the vehicle runs and drives excellent, and has completed many antique tours. Vehicle was reupholstered and repainted in 1976. Engine was fully rebuilt several years later, and again refreshed around 2002. Otherwise the car is original and well-maintained. There have been some easily reversible updates performed to the car to make it more reliable and safe such as turn signals and an electric fuel pump. Included with the car is an extensive assortment of additional parts including a complete engine and transmission assembly(engine in the car is original and number matching), fuel tank, head lamps, etc. In addition to the parts, there is an array of very hard to find original 1926 Cadillac literature including a service manual, parts price list/catalog, supplement for dealers/salespeople, user's guide, sales brochure, and print ads. Also, there is a great deal of documentation of previous owners, history of the car and the hotel it serviced, correspondence between the original family and previous owners, documentation of service and repairs and more.
