LOW RESERVE Auction for 1987 Chevy 4X4 with low miles.
History:
I purchased this truck from a California State Surplus Auction in January 2016. This 4X4 truck was purchased by the State of California for use as a Cal-Fire unit in 1987. It was then transferred to the Fish and Game department in 1998 for limited use until it went to surplus in November 2015. It then went up for auction in January 2016. Since I purchased the vehicle I have been refurbishing it. I have only driven it on my property and close to my home and I have not registered or transferred the title. The Buyer of this auction will have the opportunity to be the documented second owner of this truck which has in the past only held an “exempt” registration status. The new Buyer will be the first owner to give this truck a conventional title. This is a very nice truck with low documented mileage. This is the only year (1987) with TBI, in this model of truck. I included a picture of the truck at the state auction.
Paperwork:
This truck is sold with a clean and clear California title. All disposition papers and associated documents from the Department of General Services, including the history, auction records and title, and keys will be given to the new owner. I have not attempted to obtain a California smog certificate, even though it should pass. There are no plates so I have only driven it around my home area. If this vehicle is sold to a buyer in California, this truck will be sold as a parts truck only, the California buyer will be responsible for a California smog certificate. There are no plates that come with the truck because the California exempt plates were retained by the state.
Drive train:
