1989 Chevrolet Blazer Scottsdale Sport Utility 2-Door Description

I have for sale a 1989 GMC Jimmy that is 95% restored. This vehicle has been in our family since 1989. It was my father’s company vehicle until 2003 at which point I purchased it and in 2009 I began a nearly 5-year restoration of the vehicle. I never planned to sell it and invested nearly $18,000 in the truck it truly is in amazing shape, but with kids in the future, a crowded garage, and a basement to finish we have decided to sell. It has a clean title in hand ready to sell. I will be open about everything that is done and the little things that are still needed. As I said it is 95% restored but has a few little details left. From the photo you can tell the truck was stripped to bare metal, rust was removed and replaced with new sheet metal, the body was sand blasted, sanded, epoxy primer-ed, and painted. A 5.7L 350 ci crate motor roller cam block, 9.0 compression, and gm good wrench 700R4 overdrive transmission were installed. A high pressure fuel pump and holly TBI unit were installed. The truck overall has under 15,000 miles all the new parts. Those are the big things now here is the lengthy list of new items. New: weather stripping throughout including windshield, doors, window felts, topper seals, all doors including the tailgate were sand blasted and coated inside with POR-15 new door and tailgate internal and external seal, the underbody along with nearly 300+ bolts were sandblasted or sanded and coated with POR-15, tail light housings and internal fenders and beds were blasted and coated with POR-15 under coat, both front and rear differentials were completely rebuilt using Richmond gears 3.73 and a pinion depth setting tool, the rear diff has a Eaton Tru Lock diff, new bushings for the leaf springs, new u-bolts and everything was painted with POR-15, new rotors, brake spring kits, calipers, braded steel brake lines, shoes and pads. Backing plates for the brakes were painted with POR-15 for easier clean future brake jobs. New wheel studs on all wheels, new wheels and BFG tires. The transfer case was rebuilt with new bearing, shift pads, seals, and chain. The rear drive shaft was disassembled, painted, and reassembled with new u-joints. Under the hood everything is new including the AC compressor, water pump, pulleys, belts, distributer, TBI unit, and MSD ignition. The entire inside of the cab and bed were sandblasted and then coated with bed liner prior to insulation and new carpet, seat upholstery kits, fresh interior paint, new dash pad (not those cheap plastic ones either) a true new dash pad, new aluminum trim was installed and I left the plastic protective material on for the new owner to remove. The AC does blow cold but I think it is starting to lose its charge. A new windshield was installed, headliner, speaker for the radio, new front grill, headlight bezels, headlights, side markers, and much more. I have tried to come up with this list three times now and I still leave parts out. New front and rear bumpers. Basically this was my baby and I have over $18,000 invested.

What’s left is some small things:

The window tint needs to be done, the front drive shaft needs to be repainted, I was going to replace front U-joints at that time too, not because it needs it but to finish up and have it all brand new at once, I wanted to rhino line the bottom six inches of the truck all the way around as there are some very small chips from rocks being thrown up with the tires. Also there is one small crack in the paint on the tailgate in a spot typical for these trucks. Some small tinkering is needed the window tracks could be adjusted better for the power windows. The truck has cruise control that works, power locks, power windows, and power mirrors. It basically brand new. I know I will likely lose money but want to be realistic and know these just are fetching big money yet. You will need to make shipping arrangements. I will transport the vehicle up to 100 miles free of charge to help arrange shipping. Too much to list and I hate to see this truck go. I reserve the right to end this auction if needed as this is also for sale locally
