1950 CHEVY BUSINESS COUPE
FACTS- these cars are rare, especially in original paint. This is an honest car. The car has had two small features in Hot Rod (Deluxe) magazine. Original and matching ’50 Texas plates. Clear Texas title.
MECHANICAL- 1,500 miles since complete engine rebuild (’74 Chevy 350). Canfield heads, Eagle crank, Ross pistons, .30 overbore, Edelbrock intake and carburetor, MSD coil/module/distributor, new ministarter, new radiator and electric fan. Turbo 350 tranny (newer) from TCI. 3.55 rear end. Lokar shifter. Disc brakes in front with newer rotors. Newer battery. Newer exhaust with cutouts. This car has a heavy loping idle.
BODY- all original and original paint. Minor rust in trunk fixed.Half of each floor pan has been replaced (to a very high standard). Floor pans painted with POR-15 and then covered with Eastwood’s sound deadener. New windshield glass and door glass. There is little surface rust on the car - the discoloration (the reddish color in the pictures) is the original red oxide primer showing through.
SUSPENSION- frame C’d and Z’d. The front end has been clipped and has a Camaro front end from the firewall forward. C’d in rear with trailing arms, panhard bar, etc. Hasnew rear shocks and a good ride.Original steel wheels, but rear wheels have new hoops changing the offset and width. Newer tires. I have a complete set of original wheels - original to the car and in original paint - that come with the car.
INTERIOR- mostly newer stuff, nothing too exciting. Nicely done. Has quality seatbelts. The seat have been redone in period material. Newer carpet and door sills. Newer door panels done in black vinyl.
NEEDS- what does this car need?Could use new door and trunk rubber.
The car is for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction early if need be. Feel free to ask any and all questions.
