1987 Chevrolet Other Pickups -- Description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1987 Chevrolet C-10 Silverado. If you're reading this, you probably already know everything about these trucks (probably more than I do) and know exactly what you want so I'll get right down to it. I'd rate the exterior of this C-10 to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. Please keep in mind that this truck appears to be original. It has a brown over tan two tone exterior over tan interior. As with any 30 year old truck, please don't expect it to be perfect. This isn't a show truck. The paint shows fading from age, as you'd expect. The only noteworthy damage on the body is easily seen on the tail gate...but it still opens and closes easily. There is visible rust on the body, the worst of which can be seen on the door bottoms. Aside from that, there is just normal rust along the fenders, around the tail lights, etc...it's a 30 year old truck. The good news is that all of the important stuff underneath is rock solid. The inner fenders are rusted through on the front, but that's not structural. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory rally wheels look good and still have their chrome trim rings and center caps. Tire tread is good all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photo's carefully. There are 66 full sized photos if you scroll down. I would also rate the interior of this truck to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. As with most trucks from this era, the interior is pretty basic. This truck has the Silverado package, which gives the premium cloth seat, plush carpet and other comforts that were optional of trucks in the 80's. The door panels are clean. The inside pull on the drivers door is torn off...which I actually did, myself, closing the door in a hurry as I hopped in one day. The windows roll up and down easily. You get a little wind noise from the wing vents, which really doesn't matter...it's a 30 year old truck. The dash is faded and shows a few cracks from age. The cloth to the headliner has been removed, most likely because it was sagging. The carpets show a few marks from age, which I would consider well within what is acceptable. The cloth seat is clean, comfortable and shows minimal wear...just a small tear near the center. This truck is air conditioning equipped, but I'm guessing it doesn't work. I can tell you that the heater works very well. The radio is the original shaft mount radio, which doesn't work anymore. This C-10 has the original owners manual still, which is impressive. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. They're there for your benefit. Mechanically, this truck is all there. The 350ci V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. I've owned this truck for a few months and she's a runner. I haven't seen any leaks and she doesn't smoke. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good. The engine keeps perfect temperature and good oil pressure. I've personally put close to 1,000 miles on this truck with absolutely zero issues. I use it around town, I've taken it on a few longer day trips and she's always run like a champ and never, ever left me down. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with no issues. This truck has the low highway gears so she cruises easily at highway speed. She's stable and solid at any speed. I'd drive this truck anywhere without a second thought. If you've been looking around, you've probably seen all the trucks out there for sale. There are the perfect time capsule trucks and restored show trucks...which go for a fortune. There are also those that are complete basket cases, needing complete restoration before even being usable. This truck is a good, solid driver. She's been used like a truck should be used. If you want a perfect truck to cruise around in, this truck is a paint job and some rust repair short of being exactly that. If you just want a solid, old truck to use for truck stuff...this truck is literally turn key. Please, please, please...only bid once you've looked over all the photos and are committed to buying. This is a good truck that I would drive across the country without a second thought. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
