1961 Chevrolet Impala Description

You probably were just attracted to this 1961 Chevrolet Impala because you though it looked cool and was priced right. Little did you know that this two-door has a terrific color combo, M22 rock crusher four-speed, and serious 454 big block power. Yep, it's that awesome. You already know why the 1961 Impala is such a cool ride. There were some nice touches that did not make it onto any other year, and so they are sought after by collectors today. This kind of lineage is why the black paint has been given the right investments to give it the kind of high gloss shine that instantly attracts attention. Plus, this one has all the right brightwork elements from the large wraparound bumpers to the intricate gunsight the gun sight fender ornaments. And it's sure to draw a crowd with elements like the wraparound rear window with body overhang, and the full-length sweeping trim that also gives a nice hint at the interior color. But the part we know you love the best is the dipping "V" in the trunk with the three tail lamps on each side. It's something so daring that this style is unique to the '61. Inside is a custom setup that nicely repeats the exterior color scheme. So the great glossy black returns on places like the dash and upholstery. And now the red on the exterior side spear nicely matches the tuck-n-roll style insets in the seats and door panels. All of the vinyl and carpeting feel quite fresh, so you know there was a solid investment here. The Impala offers plenty of full-size comfort to carry family and friends, but the best treats are reserved just for the driver. You get the original stylized two-spoke steering wheel, which gives you a clear view of all the auxiliary gauges and column-mounted tach. Those readouts and the Hurst shifter combine to let you know there's something special under the hood before you even twist the key and hear it growl.Filling the engine bay is some serious big block power. The top motor in 1961 was the mighty 409, but this car does it even better. The large 454 cubic-inch V8 looks like it's radiating power from the black painted engine bay with its shiny valve covers, pulleys, air topper, and much more. And beyond the flash are also some great go-fast upgrades such as GM Performance heads, Comp Cam, roller rockers, MSD Blaster SS ignition, super heavy duty radiator with twin fans, Holley 750 CFM four-barrel carburetor. Plus, the header package adds power as it contributes to the rumble of the dual exhaust. Best of all, you have the best control over this monster motor thanks to the ultra-stout Muncie M22 rock crusher four-speed manual. It even features a new flywheel clutch and throwout bearing. It's a great setup that feeds a 10-bolt Positraction rear end running 4.56 gears for power takeoffs. And out on the streets this one gives you extra confidence with the right features such as new bushings, ball joints, idler arm, shocks, and springs. Add in power steering and front disc brakes, and you have a monster Impala that's easy to tame.Complete with owner's manual, you're probably already imaging the places you can go and how fast you'll get there in this complete build. So hurry and give us a call before the best Impala around goes to someone else!
