1962 Chevrolet Impala SSHere's a restored 1962 Chevy Impala SS for your consideration.Originally a Bakersfield California car, now it's in Dallas Texas with a clear California title. This car has had a frame off restoration about 6 years ago and was built to keep, not flip so quality parts and workmanship were used throughout.
It has a Ram Jet 350 Fuel Injected engine mated to a Tremec 5 speed thru a Centerforce clutch. Heavy Duty yoke and center support bearing get the power to a rebuilt stock rear end with 3:73 Posi track.The Tremec shifts thru a factory located shifter so nothing looks out of place.The engine has Sanderson headers, 2.5 inch mandrel bent exhaust system, a serpentine belt configuration and is cooled with a Ron Davis aluminum radiator. The power steering has been converted to a smaller frame mounted box type.
It has Willwood front disc brakes, stock drum rears and a CCP dual circuit master cylinder and booster. It has American Racing 14 inch wheels with custom center cap covers including the spare.The frame and all of the suspension components were powder coated black and all suspension components are new. Hellwig heavy duty sway bars were used front and rear.The interior is all new with Vintage Air Generation 2 components with 134a.Power windows were installed using the stock cranks as controllers.All gauges work and all glass is good except for a crack on the passenger side vent window. It has an aftermarket radio with remote CD player in the trunk.
The car was repainted the original off white color with PPG clear coat / base coat and is looks great with no issues except a small rust bubble on the driver side lower front edge of the door and the inside front lower fender edge on the drivers side. These issues are pictured below.The car runs and drives beautifully. There's plenty of power and reliability with the Fuel Injected Ram Jet. Tires have plenty of tread and look great but the date codes say they need to be replaced.
