1968 Chevrolet R1500 Suburban custom cab Description

I restored this suburban from 2013-2017 as my own personal project, no expense was spared. it is a very nice driving vehicle that is super dependable. here is a list of what was done while i was building it.
BODY - the body was media blasted and all rust was repaire. original sheet metal was very straight. there was very little body work to be done. vehicle was painted with PPG base clear urethane inside and out while it was disassembled. all rubber was replaced and original glass was reused with the exception of the front windsheild. bumpers, trim, door handles, mirrors ect. were all replaced with new reproductions. the handle and the rear lock bezel are not available and were reused. they have some minor blemishes but look good enough. The paint is very good and should hold up very well over the years. It is very stright but was restored to original quality. it isnt the lazer straight flawless show quality paint job you are afraid to drive.
ENGINE - The original engine was scrapped for a modern 5.3l lm7 that was removed from a 2002 tahoe. it had 86k when it was removed. the transmission was a rwd silverado 4l60e that was completely overhauled by vancouver transmission last year. driveline is a new one piece unit. exhaust was built by punks muffler and is very nice with magnaflow muffler. Engine is completely stock and has plenty of power to pull this tank around. averages 15mpg in town and 19-20 on the freeway. 60mph = 1700rpm.
INTERIOR - upholstery was installed buy daves upholstery in vancouver wa with the original seats, the headliner is a cutom one off by dave and looks awesome. carpet is a prefit orginal style loop carpet that fits very nice. rear panels are custome stitched by dave and fit very nice. the stereo is all alpine with a 5 channel amp hidden in the rear panel. sub encloser (not shown) sits over the spare tire well and is a customer built unit
CHASSIS - this truck was originally a c20, the front suspension was swapped out for a a 1/2 ton unit from an 86 c10, rear axle is from a mid 70's c10 and has a 3:73 ratio. brakes are new on all four corners. front suspension was rebuilt with all moog components and has CPP tubular lower arms. Air ride control is an "autopilot v2" automated air ride system. super easy to use and it tucked away in the spare tire well. the body was no tremoved for the restoration. The frame was cleaned and detailed before the vehicle was re-assembled.
This thing is like driving the space shuttle, it gets a ton of looks and is loved by all who see it. I tried to stay true to its original beauty with only a couple custom and modern touches. hopefully it finds a good home. I hate to sell it but life happens and I have moved on to other things. please message me with any questions you may have.
