Stk 2368 1967 Corvette ZZ430 The 1967 String Ray coupe will forever be an iconic Corvette. This Ebony Black beauty experienced a full restoration in 2008. No detail was spared during the process. Originally a California car all cosmetics were carefully restored to virtually factory appearance. However the Sting Ray's drivetrain received significant upgrades. The current owner purchased the Corvette from Hendrick Motorsports as a turn-key package and it has provided flawless performance and dependability since day-one. He has campaigned the car in the Hot Rod Power Tour series for the past six years. (All of those 'tour' decals are removable.) Horsepower is furnished by a GM ZZ430 crate motor a very limited production small block (total produced - 430). Originally developed for the 12-hour Sebring road race program in the late-90's all ZZ430 engines were individually hand assembled from ZZ-series short blocks produced at GM's Flint V8 assembly plant. This was done to ensure that the same durability proven at Sebring was a part of every ZZ430 produced. This ZZ430 (#204) has a displacement of 383ci and produces 425bhp and 460lb/ft torque. The compression ratio of 9.6:1 allows for the use of 92-octane fuel. It has a forged crank aluminum pistons aluminum heads and a hydraulic roller cam (.509/.528) w/1.6:1 rockers. GM provided the dual-plane intake for a double-pumper 750cfm Holley carburetor and exhaust is routed through shorty headers to Corvette side-pipes. This powerplant was tuned by Lars Corvettes Lafayette CO. The motor is backed by a rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission and 3.55:1 posi-traction differential. A stunning exterior was reshot in 2008 and is in very good condition. The black leather interior was also refreshed and everything looks very much like it did fifty years ago. This classic is equipped with A/C AM/FM stereo tinted windows power steering Wilwood power disc brakes and fiberglass transverse rear spring. GM steel Rally Wheels mount radial tires in good condition. Additional parts are included with the car: bolt-on Kelsey-Hayes repo aluminum wheels factory bumpers factory calipers and a custom car cover.
