This prestigious clone of a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 2 Door Coupe started its life as a standard Camaro and was enjoyed for almost 50 years as a nicely sorted driver. The 4th lifetime owner decided to take this amazing classic to an entirely different level several years ago, however, and stripped this prestigious muscle car down to bare metal in a multi-year restoration effort. Every single component and mechanical was refurbished or replaced while the main power plant received a period correct 396 V-8 with the Muncie 4-speed. This classic was definitely built the right way as well with extensive upgrades to the suspension, rear axle, braking system, etc.
In terms of its present condition, this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 comes very close to perfection with a beautiful flowing exterior and true multi-layer show quality paint. Since all the trim and metalwork were all refreshed during the restoration as well, this muscle car is truly picture perfect and really stands out in a crowd. The Houndstooth interior is equally as impressive with only the slightest, most insignificant signs of aging and this vehicle would be considered “like-new” by the average collector. The engine compartment is also breathtaking with lots of chrome to visually pop.
This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 clone also delivers sizzling performance with awesome acceleration and the proper build quality to handle all that factory muscle. While we do not have extensive documentation on the rebuild, there is easily $40k in upgrades throughout and this example owns the road like a true champion. It may be the steal of the year for one lucky collector because you couldn’t even begin to build this powerhouse at the current asking price.
