1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS Description

Decided to let this one go. Bought it last year as a roller and installed a fresh Dart/AFR 548 Big Block.

68 Camaro RS - original color was Corvette Bronze.

Older restoration that had been turned into a street/strip car by previous owners. Street legal, full stock interior, swing out/removable side bars on full chrome moly cage, 5 point harness, removable window net. Lights work.

Was told body was original sheet metal, but I found GM stickers behind quarters, doors, fenders, so obviously it was all replaced at one time and it was done right. All steel except 4” glass cowl hood. Trim and bumpers have been replaced and are in great condition. Very clean floor and trunk.

548 Dart Big M block, Eagle crank and rods, SRP 10.5:1 pistons, hyd roller cam with Howard’s lifters. AFR 305 heads, Crane roller rockers with stud girdle. Edelbrock Victor Jr intake, 950HP double pumper, MSD ignition, CVR electric water pump, Power Master alternator, Moroso pan. 701 HP/718 TQ on 91 pump gas. Have dyno sheets and video on dyno. Very streetable and well mannered. Will make a lot more power with a more aggressive cam. Hooker Super Comp headers with 3” mandrel bent full exhaust with DynoMax race mufflers. Motor has 11 track passes, several dyno pulls and a few hundred street miles on it.

Built TH400 Trans with TCI brake and Kevlar trans cover. Hurst Quarter Stick shifter in stock console. Fresh Precision converter with anti-ballon plate. 4” aluminum driveshaft. 12 bolt with Detroit Locker, 3.42 gear, Strange axles and c-clip eliminators. Cal Trac bars, adjustable shocks, split mono leaf. Front has QA1 control arms and double adjustable coil overs, Wilwood disc brakes and master cylinder.

Weld wheels/MT tires

Runs and looks great. Only got to take it to the track once on a marginally-prepped test day. Launching barely over idle it ran 10.62@129 with terrible 60’ times. Easy 9 second pump gas street car on a good track or with slicks.

Very clean and well-built car. Lots of high dollar parts.

Trades considered but looking for roughly $10k (or more) cash difference coming my way on any trade. Mainly looking for GM muscle/ classic car trades, will consider others such as 63/65 Riviera, early Impala’s/full size 2 door, 70-72 Monte, etc.

No bikes, boats, street rods, Fords or Mopars. The ONLY trucks I would consider would be a first gen Blazer 2wd (70-ish).

I don’t need to sell, so keep the offers reasonable. Clean/clear title in hand. Car located in Eastern Iowa. More pictures available.
