1976 Chevrolet Corvette with LS1/4L60E swap Description

I'm only the second owner of this car and have owned it since 1981. I have about 2500 miles and 3 years on the LS engine swap, it has been rock-solid reliable and an absolute blast to drive, but it's time for a new project and I don't have room for them all. The swap almost doubled the horsepower of the original engine....

I have all records on this car since 1981, including detailed records and parts list from the LS1 swap, with a complete list of the modifications made.

The odometer shows 86440, which I know to be 186440 since I bought the car with roughly 40K miles on it.

I completed the installation of the 5.7L LS1 (which was a take-out from a 2001 Corvette) in the summer of 2015. The engine has '241' heads and an LS6 intake manifold; The LS1 engine produced 350HP in stock 2001 Corvette form, I have done nothing to the engine / tune aside from adaptations needed to work in the chassis. All the powertrain electronics / fuel system are stock 2001 Corvette, with the only modifications being those needed to adapt it to the chassis.

The transmission is a 4L60E, fully rebuilt at the time of the powertrain installation, from a HD truck core ("4KZD”) with the 5-pinion planetary. Shifts perfectly and it is all tunable with the PCM.

True dual exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers - sounds amazing.

The HVAC system was also exchanged at the time of the new engine, for a complete Vintage Air system. Uses a modern Sanden compressor compatible with the LS1 engine, but operates using the stock controls and air outlets. The A/C system works great.

Chassis-wise, the frame is all-original and in great shape; it has a Van Steel front suspension kit with tubular A-arms and coil-over adjustable shocks which allow ride-height adjustment.

American Racing Ansen Sprints wheels, 17x8" in front, 17x9" in rear. The BFG g-Force Super Sport tires (P245/45R17 fronts, P275/40R17 rears) are like-new.

Body-wise, quite a few modifications which you can see in the photos. Re-painted in a color that closely matched the original Bright Blue metallic, but in basecoat/clearcoat; The paint looks amazing and always gets compliments.

The black leather interior is mostly original though in very good condition. The seats were recovered some time ago in a cloth/leather combo, see photos. New carpeting at time of re-paint. All gauges are original except for the voltmeter (from another year Corvette) that was installed at the time of the powertrain swap. All gauges work perfectly except for the clock.

One-piece smoked plexi-glass 'Astro-Top' in place of the removable T-tops.

Not pictured, but comes with the car: original hood (still has the original paint); original T-tops (were repainted with rest of car, but never installed)
