1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 Description

Rare 1969 Chevelle SS 396 Factory paint code 76 Daytona Yellow 13437 300 Deluxe Sport Coupe! Code 76 Daytona yellow is an SS 396 only color on a 1969 Chevelle. GM made 7181 13437 300 deluxe sport coupes. This car with the 5500 rpm tach and fuel return line would have been a 325hp or 350hp 396. Using average percentages, 2.07% 13437 300 series cars would be SS 396 cars. That makes this car one of 359 350hp or one of 1231 325hp 13437 SS 396 300 series cars.
I am listing this car for my sister who has owned it since 1985. This car was on a used car lot on South A in Springfield Oregon when we first seen it. Also on the lot was a white with goldish interior 1968 Camaro SS 396. The Camaro engine had a mechanical problem and started running bad and the car lot owner swapped engines with this Chevelle. We walked in on them when they were in the middle of the swap. A few days later she drove this Chevelle off the lot at a discounted price. I swapped the engine again for her with a 1972 Cheyenne 402 I had rebuilt with a cam, headers, and Pete Jackson gear drive which still resides in the car today. The muncie 4 spd I believe is out of the Camaro. Has a 3:31 open 1969 dated 12 bolt.Around 1996 the car had a minor restoration. The 300 series cars had vinyl floor mats and rusted the floor pans. These were replaced with a 2 piece unit. Minor fender rust repaired and one spot on left lower rear quarter. The 300 series interior was not available so Malibu interior was installed along with a vinyl top and bucket seats. The wipers were changed to the hidden style ( still have the 300 series set-up that comes with the car). The glass was changed to tinted (might still have the original clear glass minus windshield. Still looking.) She drove it to shows and cruises until she parked it in the early 2000's.During storage it sustained some minor damage. It had a canvas cover over it underneath a Costco portable carport. During a wind storm, it picked the carport up and drug it over the top of the car. The wet canvas cover made the paint blister in spots, The carport chipped the paint on top of the quarter panels. Has a small ding on the roof and left quarter from the carport. Paint chaffed off the front (see pictures). Only rust showing is on the edge of the hood but solid still. Right lower rear quarter has some bubbling in a small spot. On the same right lower rear quarter, I noticed some rivots. Quarter replaced at one time? Cannot tell when looking in trunk. Car is solid and has been garaged or under cover while she has owned it. Trunk has very minor surface rust under mat but no holes. Original trim and bumpers still on car in driver condition. Still have PPG paint label with exact mix codes.Interior is nice. Has a crack in the dash pad and a warped package tray. No radio. The bench seat was reinstalled along with the original Muncie bench seat handle. Car runs, drives, and stops good. Wonders a little at freeway speeds. Lights, wipers, heater all works. Good car to enjoy now and restore later. The last 2 pictures are from 1985. The 2nd and 3rd pictures are in the same spot 33 years later.
Had a question on the 300 series. The 13427 300 series coupe has the wing windows and frames around the doors. The 13437 is the 300 series sport coupe with no wing windows and no frames around the doors. The cars with wing windows had no astro ventilation. This one has astro ventilation.
Car has clear title in my sisters name. Car will not leave until ANY check has cleared. Sorry but these are the times we live in. If you are local, your bank can hand her the check. Cash will be verified authentic.
