1969 SS396 Chevrolet El camino, Chevy SS 396 Big block
1969 Chevrolet El Camino SS396 Description
Firstly, I am new to eBay. But please feel free to bid with confidence. I have made lots of old hot rod buys, sells, and trades over the years all over the place and you’ll find me very honest, respectful, and accommodating. Tired of the Craigslist stuff for now and giving this a try. Please feel free to send a question here on eBay. Or call and text me at 4798577239. Leave a message if I don’t answer. Thank you.
The Elco is a high option Real big block 1969 SS396 Kansas City plant car and lived in oklahoma until I got it. 12 bolt posi rearend with the factory F40 four link suspension (SS only option). She hooks pretty impressively. Turbo 400 with streetable stall. Car is legitimate FAST. It's an era correct 69-72 block but I do NOT believe it's numbers matching. Its the block with extra oiling ports it seems and AC cars only came up to 350 horse without special order evidently. The extra line blocks were higher hp blocks supposedly. Head castings are 390 horse 1970 LS5 corvette 454 with slight work done to them. Factory disc brakes car (SS only option). Tilt wheel. Factory Ac car with everything still there and relatively good condition but does have a bad line I can visibly see and is NOT working even though it looks good for its age. Great running, very great and comfortable driving, and decent looking car.
It was garage kept until I got it 2 years ago and had an 8.5/10 paint job on it. Paint is a 6 up close out of 10 now. Still prolly a “20 footer” as they say because I sanded down where the clear cracks were along the bed. It is super solid and has zero rust. It does have bondo, and a man could hide it if he wanted to, but I’m dead ass honest about anything I have. Always better that way. It does have bondo along the top of the bed rails it’s starting to show well and top of tailgate here and there. The guy that restored it 22 years ago couldn’t find the missing bed trim and at that time it was super expensive so was easier to delete the trim and fill over the clips. I have gathered up prolly 90 percent of the bed trim and thought about putting it on, but knew whoever painted it would just have to take it off again. I had a good friend that’s a body man look all over and only other bondo is showing in the usual spots of the cab corner. So I don’t represent it as being show car or near by any means, even though I totally planned on having it painted but I work on the road a lot and haven’t had the chance to mess with hardly anything lately and had a bunch of guys flake on me. I have had my fun with her and am passing it on to the next guy that’ll do it right and try to finance finishing up my shop. Interior is 7 out of 10 or a hair better. Needs stuff tucked back here and there and weatherstripping is getting old. Solid and no rust underneath. Not a perfect car but a very decent and stout driver for sure.
Clean title in my name. Thank you all.
