1971 Chevrolet Other Description

This is a 1971 Chevy Vega prostreet. This car was purchased in 2011 from Watkins Glenn NY. The restoration was completed in 2013. This car has been gone through 100%. It was stripped down to the uniframe and media blasted. Every bit of rust and decay was removed and replaced with new metal which most times had to be fabricated by hand since there are not a lot of NOS Vega inner fender wells out there! It has an added 2" metal frame for stability and has been back-halved and tubbed. The engine is a 350 SBC with aluminum heads, Holley 700, Hooker Super Comp headers which go through inner fender wells, side exhaust, and it ROARS. Custom made drive shaft which goes to a Ford 9" shortened rear end with Moser axles and Mickey Thompson Radial 16 x 31.5 x 15" tires with Cragar S/S direct drill mags. It also has a 4-link rear suspension. 16 gallon fuel cell in the rear with Holley electric fuel pump. Driven by a Muncie M-21 4-speed with line loc and a Hurst competition shifter and hydraulic clutch. Front and rear disc brakes with a 71 Corvette master cylinder to stop the car correctly. Every NOS factory part I could find is on the car. It has all new rubber, NOS glass all around, NOS tail lights, locks, handles, etc. Interior carpeted with period correct loop pile with tubs done as well. Seats have been redone and are brand new. Front end is a Chevy S-10 type with all the work done to get the camber and caster straight. Every bushing, and seal and gasket are new. Rear has QA-1 coil overs and front has Monza springs with Competition Engineering shocks. It was painted Cobalt Blue metallic and has 3 coats of PPG clear buffed to a high gloss. Hood and rear quarter panels are fiberglass. Fitted with NOS power shot 150 Nitrous System which has only been used recreationally. Only taken to car shows and cruise nights (about 200 miles a year). Always driven with care and never beaten on. The car sits in a humidity controlled garage when not in use. I have a binder full of sales receipts to show everything bought for this car. I also have every picture capturing all of the work done. All chrome has been redone. Has Split front bumper. The GT package is complete and the door and rear quarter trim was redone which required a lot of work to straighten each piece and re-buff it. Clear CT registration. There is no title since it is so old. VIN verification was done back in 2011 to get car registered. The paint has minor blemishes in it and a few dings from road debris. It is truly a one-of-a-kind Vega. Basically 5 hours a night in labor for 2 years straight! If you see it and stand in front of it you will see it's worth the price. There are not a lot of Vegas left and way less in this condition. Car IS SOLD AS-IS WITH NO WARRANTY AND NO RETURNS. I have a few spare parts to go with it as well.
