1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Description

This nostalgic looking 1955 Chev, the "Hollywood Hustler”, is a great running, very reliable car.

I've spent my free time over the past 5 years working on it, and just finished building the car. It has less than 300 miles on it since a complete rebuild.

It is not a shiny show car obviously, nor is it a hacked up or half assed build. But it does have alot of attitude. I have built cars for over 25 years and this car is built well, and built to last.

When I bought it, it was an abandonded project that first had been raced on the streets in the 60's, then cut up and left for death in the 80's.

I built the car in the tradition of the early 1960's race cars. I drive it every day, it is pure fun and gets a lot of attention. It is drama free and action packed. Doesn't leak, doesn't overheat. Doesn't let you down.

Instead of having a straight axle car and wobble around on the roads staying busy just staying on the road, you'll drive this smoothly with one hand on the wheel. Effortless.

The body is solid and rust free. Has a steel tilt front from an old 60's built gasser. New wheel wells and trunk floor. Has a new fuel cell and battery in the trunk. Radiused wheel openings.

I painted, and lettered the car myself, and it has recieved both fake and real patina.

The engine is a healthy 350 cui Chevy engine, internals unknown. It has been overhauled and has new gaskets everywhere, and features vintage fenderwell headers, vintage Edelbrock TR1 tunnelram intake with two freshly rebuilt Holley 390 cfm carburetors.

The ignition is a Pertronix unit. New aluminum radiator, new water pump, new oil pump. It has a 2 ½" exhaust system, of course without mufflers, and it unbolts fast and easy from the headers.

The transmission is a brand new built TH350 with a 11" converter and 2300 rpm stall speed. It has a shift kit, manual valve bod, shifts hard and distinct. It has a new trans cooler as well.

The Chevy has a brand new after market wiring harness. All but the fuel gauge and horn is functional. (It has NO functional wiper motor or heater core / fan.)

The body is sitting on a stock chassis that has been sandblasted and painted. All bolts, bushings, nuts and washers is new.

The whole front end is of course also brand new, and has disc brakes.

The rear end features a 1960 Olds axel with 5:13 gears, and a spool. It's hanging in new, lowered leaf springs with traction bars.

The transmission mount and engine mounts are also new as is the driveshaft.

Wheels : Front: 5.60x15" Firestone WW on 15x5" Chrome Reverse rims.

Rear: 29.5x15x10" WW slicks, on 15x8" Chrome Reverse rims.

Interior:

Seats from a -64 Thunderbird re upholstered, as well as new diamond tuck'n'roll door panel, package tray and new carpet. Race belts.

Steering wheel from old stock car raced in the 60's. Vintage, working Stewart Warner gauges in dash.

The car is currently registered, insured and has a clear CA title in my name.
