1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
(True Survivor) for sale
1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
A “Survivor Car” is a very narrow category. It means that a vehicle has come through the years with all of the originality that made it highly desirable in automotive world.
Let’s re-establish a set of basic ground rules about what makes the grade as a Survivor Car. The first rule of survivor cars is their original paint job. You cannot paint a collector car and still call it a survivor. The interior also has to be original to qualify as a survivor car. It should also have its factory power-train front to back and it should have all of its original equipment.
Lately, the definition of a Survivor Car has been mistakenly diluted down, and expanded to a broader category. If someone wants to sell you a True Survivor, with new paint, or newer interior, or modified parts, you best walk away.
The Beautiful 1970 Monte Carlo here at Passing Lane Motors is a True Survivor. It features the Two-Barrel Turbo-Fire 350 small block V8 Engine, the Three-Speed Turbo-Hydramatic Transmission, Power Steering, Power Windows, Air Conditioning and more.
This classic is in its original gold paint exterior and Gold Riano Fabric interior (it has never been touched). We are excited to be able to offer such gorgeous collectible, which can driven (or put in a time -capsule) as a True Survivor without breaking the bank.
Historically, the First Generation Chevy Monte Carlo was introduced for the 1970 model year. The “Personal Luxury Car” concept was first conceived by GM in 1969 and the Monte Carlo was to be the counterpart to the Pontiac Grand Prix. It was known, originally, by Chevrolet management under the working name Concours.
Though the Monte Carlo was developed at Chevrolet under the leadership of Pete Estes, it was formally introduced in September, 1969 by John Z. DeLorean, who succeeded Estes as Chevrolet's general manager earlier in the year (after previously heading the Pontiac division, where he led the development of the Grand Prix).
What a terrific way to enter the classic car community. Come by and see why we’re excited about this special car. You’ll love the way this car drives while loving the way you feel while driving it.
