Corvette Stingray 1966 L79 Coupe
1966 Chevrolet Corvette Description
I know I am going to regret this, but we are simplifying our lives, and I will no longer have a 2000sf garage to house my toys. This car has been gone through with a fine tooth comb and everything has been addressed whether it needed to be or not. It has been refurbished to be the most reliable driving C2 that it possibly can be. I wouldnt hesitate to drive it anywhere in the contiguous US, and have taken it on many 500+ mile trips since I have owned it. The 350hp L79 engine always fires on the first turn of the key, maintains a temperature of about 160 degrees not matter what the outside temperature is, and steers and brakes like new. I still have all of the parts that were replaced to make this car as carefree as possible. Every replacement part was researched to find the best supplier for the particular part, regardless of the price difference from cheap suppliers. Most parts were sourced from NOS, Paragon, or Long Island Corvette. This isnt one of the budget flips you see too often in the classic Corvette marketplace. EVERYTHING works on this car as it should, with the exception of the turn signal lever return. I do have the parts, but not the time to install them. This summer the heater core was replaced, along with the correct clips(Paragon) for the windshield surround and the birdcage was thoroughly inspected. Like the frame, there is no evidence of any rust in the birdcage whatsoever. When is the last time you have seen a driven C2 that doesnt leak fluids? This one doesnt. I am not a carshow NCRS guy, so this car is not restored to sit in my garage and be rubbed by a cloth diaper while I review black paint sheens. It was restored to be driven aggressively, and make every minivan/ Toyota Camry driving male that it passes reevaluate his bland, boring life as the song from the sidepipes slowly fades away. As far as I can tell the engine, transmission, and even the glass all have the correct numbers on them. There are no cracks visible in the fiberglass body, and the paint is very good, but not perfect. Also included along with the old parts that were replaced, is a set of Chrome 17" Foose wheels and tires. I dont care for them, but my kids think that they are super cool. Please dont waste my time, or yours, with lowball offers. I know what kind of money is invested here, and I would rather give my buddy a deal than somebody I have never met.
