CORRECT TITLE MATCHES THE VIN PLATE PERFECTLY

ONE OF THE PRECAUTIONS THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN BY THE OLD TRUCK BUYER IS IN REGARDS TO THE SERIAL NUMBER.. IN THE LATE 40s AND EARLY 1950s, MANY STATES FOUGHT TENACIOUSLY TO THWART THE PROLIFIC MOTOR VEHICLE THIEVES.. LEGISLATORS IN SOME STATES DETERMINED THAT THE TRUE SERIAL NUMBER SHOULD BE THE ONE THAT WAS STAMPED ON THE ENGINE, RATHER THAN THE NUMBER THAT WAS STAMPED ON THE EASILY REMOVED DOOR PLATE. THIS WORKED OUT FINE UNTIL THE OLD ENGINE WAS REPLACED AND THE SERIAL NUMBER BECAME DISCARDED. IT WAS SENT OUT IN THE SCRAP... NOW, YEARS LATER, THIS IS BECOMING AN INCREASINGLY SERIOUS PROBLEM, WITH TITLES TRANSFERRED THAT SHOW A SERIAL NUMBER THAT DOES NOT MATCH----ANYTHING....ANYWHERE ! ! PLEASE NOTICE THE TWO PICTURES REGARDING OUR OFFERING.. WE HAVE ILLUSTRATED THAT OUR TITLE AND SERIAL NUMBER TAG MATCH PERFECTLY.. MANY CANNOT MAKE THIS CLAIM..

WHAT DO THEY MEAN WHEN THEY CALL IT A 'STOVEBOLT' 6 CYLINER ? ?

ACCORDING TO WIKIPEDIA, THESE ENGINES DERIVED THE STOVE BOLT NICKNAME WHEN THEY WERE FIRST INTRODUCED IN 1929.. THEY WERE CONSIDERED AN ENGINEERING MARVEL AND IT SURPRISED MANY TO LEARN THAT NEARLY ALL OF THE EXTERIOR ENGINE BOLTS WERE 1/4 INCH BY 20 THREAD...THESE WERE THE VERY SAME BOLTS THAT WERE USED BY MANY WOOD STOVE MANUFACTURERS OF THE TIME, THUS; STOVE BOLT SIX.. OUR LITTLE TRUCK RUNS EXCELLENT, SHIFTS THROUGH ALL OF IT'S GEARS CORRECTLY AND IT'S STEERING IS TIGHT AND TRUE..

=====================

HOW ISOUR TRUCK 'BETTER' THAN NEW ?ELECTRICAL PROTECTION !
IT IS TRUE, THAT CHEVROLET ENGINEERS WERE CONCERNED ABOUT ELECTRICAL PROTECTION IN THE ALL NEW'ADVANCED DESIGN' TRUCKS..PARTIAL ELECTRICAL PROTECTION.. THE STANDARD GLASSFUSES OF THE DAY WERE PLACED IN LINE ONLY AFTER THE WIRING WAS ROUTED THROUGH THE IGNITION SWITCH, AMMETER & LIGHT SWITCH.. THUS THE PROTECTION WAS FOR ONLY ABOUT HALF OF THE ELECTRICALCIRCUIT.. THE MANY FEET OF WIRE THAT RAN FROM THEBATTERY CONNECTORTO THESE FUSES WAS AT RISK AND COULD BE SUBJECT TO SHORT-OUTS AND FIRES..THIS WASA SCARY THOUGHT WITHTHE STANDARD6 VOLT SYSTEM BUT TODAY IT COULD BEDEVASTATING WITH THE DOUBLE VOLTAGE, 12 VOLT POWER IN PLACE ! ! ! ALL OF OUR TRUCKS HAVE BEEN UPGRADED AT THE STARTER WITH A MODERN 40 AMP FUSE THAT YOU SEE IN THE PICTURE ABOVE. IT IS MADE WITH A HEAVY 10 GAGE WIRE AND COMPLETELY PROTECTSTHE AFOREMENTION ITEMS.. THIS IS HIDDEN FROM VIEW TO ALL BUT THE MOST SOPHISTICATED OBSERVERS AND IS VERY EASY TO GET TO IN CASE OF A PROBLEM.. WE THINK THE FIRE SIRENS SHOULD SOUND ONLY WHEN YOU'RE IN A PARADE..EMERGENCY EXTRA FUSESWILL BE PROVIDED..
===============================WHAT THE NUMBERS MEAN

VIN #----3HPH25737

#1------3 STANDS FOR THEST. LOUIS, MISSOURIASSEMBLY PLANT

H--------STANDS FOR THE MODEL YEAR 1950

P------STANDS FOR THE SERIES 3100 or half ton

H-------STANDS FOR THE MONTH OF PRODUCTION AUGUST

25737 IS THE SEQUENCIAL NUMBER AT THE ASSEMBLY PLANT

THUS; THIS 1950 HALF TON CHEVROLET WAS PRODUCED INAUGUST OF 1950

===THE TRUE STORY REGARDING THE CURVED CORNER GLASS WINDOWS===

CALLED 'NEW VUE'

THESE CURVED GLASS WINDOWSWERE A STAND ALONE, $26.50 OPTION. THEY WERE CALLED 'NEW VUE' BY CHEVROLET AND DUE TO THE DOUBLE PANEL INSIDE CAB CONSTRUCTION, THEY CANNOT BE ADDED AS A POST PRODUCTION OPTION. OURS ALSO HAS THE LIGHTEST GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATING OF ANY OF THE 1950 CHEVY TRUCKS.. THIS WOULD INDICATE THAT IT WAS PURCHASED AS A LIGHT DUTY HAULER AND AS SUCH, LIVED A RATHER PAMPERED LIFE..IN OUR CASE, IT WAS PROBABLY TRANSPORTING GOOSE FEATHERS TO A PILLOW FACTORY. THE WEIGHT RATING IS ONLY 4600 POUNDS AND IT HAS A CURB WEIGHT OF ONLY 3100 POUNDS.. NOW, IF WE WERE FORCED TO DO THE MATH, THAT SOUNDS LIKE A PAYLOAD OF ONLY 1500 POUNDS MINUS THE WEIGHT OF THE PASSENGERS OR ABOUT 1050 POUNDS...NOT EXACTLY HEAVY DUTY HAULING, IS IT ? ?
