TODAY IS SOMEONE'S LUCKY DAY UP FOR AUCTION IS MY 1964 CHEVY IMPALA WITH A 5.3 LITER LS ENGINE SWAP. THIS IS A GREAT DRIVING CAR AND RUNS OUT BETTER THAN WHEN IT WAS NEW. IT HAS MANY UPGRADES AND MODIFICATIONS TO MAKE IT A GREAT CRUISING CAR AND WAS BUILT TO DRIVE NOT RIDE TO SHOWS ON A TRAILER. BELOW I HAVE LISTED THE FACTS ABOUT THIS CAR.
BODY AND PAINT
THE PAINT ON THIS IMPALA IS IN MY OPINION A 8 OUT OF TEN. IT SHOWS GREAT AND HAS A HIGH GLOSS TO IT. THERE IS A FEW PAINT CHIPS THAT HAVE BEEN TOUCHED UP WITH SAME PAINT AS CAR. ALSO ON THE ROOF AS SEEN IN PICTURES THERE ARE THREE SMALL PLACES THAT HAD BIRD DROPPING ON IT AND CAUSED PAINT DETERIORATION . THIS PAINT JOB WAS DONE A FEW YEARS BACK AND HAS NOT BEEN WET SANDED OR BUFFED. I DO HAVE SOME OF THE PAINT LEFT THAT CAR WAS PAINTED WITH AND IT WILL GO WITH CAR . THERE IS ENOUGH PAINT TO FIX ALL FLAWS AND STILL HAVE SOME LEFT FOR THE FUTURE. THE BODY ON THIS CAR IS IN GREAT SHAPE AND IS NOT FULL OF DINGS OR DENTS. ALL BODY LINES MATCH UP GOOD FOR A CAR FROM 1964 . BRIGHT WORK IS IN GREAT CONDITION AND SHOWS WELL SOME PIECES ARE NEW AND SOME ARE ORIGINAL TO THE CAR. BUMPERS ARE IN GOOD SHAPE AND CHROME SHINES EXCELLENT REAR BUMPER HAS A SMALL SCUFF ON RIGHT CORNER AS SEEN IN PICTURE. OVER ALL THIS CAR LOOKS GREAT AND I AM PROUD TO DRIVE IT ANYWHERE.
ENGINE AND DRIVETRAIN
THIS IMPALA HAS HAD A CHEVROLET 5.3L LS LOW MILEAGE ENGINE INSTALLED BY PROFESSIONAL SHOP. IT IS BACKED WITH A 4L60E AUTOMATIC OVERDRIVE TRANSMISSION. ENGINE HAS MANY PERFORMANCE UPGRADES SO IT WILL RUN STRONG WITH NO ISSUES. IT HAS FABRICATED FITECH FUEL INJECTION INTAKE WITH 92 MM THROTTLE BODY. THE FITECH SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED WITH ITS NEW ENGINE WIRING HARNESS THAT CONTROLS ENGINE AND IT HAS FITECH CONTROLLER IN CAR FOR EASY TUNING OF ENGINE AND MONITORING OF ENGINES PERFORMANCE. ENGINE HAS NEW LS HEADERS WITH CUSTOM 21/2 INCH DUAL 40 SERIES FLOWMASTER EXHAUST. FABRICATED LS VALVE COVERS TO MATCH FITECH INTAKE. NEW WATER PUMP AND POWER STEERING PUMP. ALUMINUM RADIATOR MADE FOR THE LS CONVERSION WITH BUILT IN TRANSMISSION COOLER. RADIATOR IS COOLED BY ELECTRIC FAN WITH ADJUSTABLE TEMPERATURE CONTROL. RADIATOR OVERFLOW TANK IS MOUNTED TO INNER FINDER AND HAS CUSTOM LOOK. I HAVE INSTALLED HEAT RESISTANT BOOTS ON ALL PLUG WIRES TO KEEP THEM FROM GETTING HOT AT HEADERS. THE ENGINE IS SUPPLIED WITH FUEL FROM A NEW ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP DESIGNED FOR FUEL INJECTION MOTORS. ALL NEW GAS LINES AND FUEL TANK THAT IS DESIGNED FOR FUEL INJECTION WERE ALSO INSTALLED ON CAR BY PROFESSIONAL SHOP. ALSO I HAD LOW PROFILE CAMARO SS OIL PAN INSTALLED. I HAD NEW POWER DISC BRAKES INSTALLED FOR FRONT OF CAR AND HAD REAR DRUM BRAKES REBUILT WITH NEW SHOES TO ASSURE QUALITY BRAKING. ALSO HAD TRUE POWER STEERING CONVERSION INSTALLED TO MAKE TURNING THIS CAR EFFORTLESS. BRAND NEW TWO PIECE DRIVE SHAFT WITH CUSTOM REAR SLIDE AND NEW NEOPRENE NICKEL PLATED CARRIER BEARING. THIS DRIVE SHAFT WAS REQUIRED TO HANDLE LS POWER AND SET PINION ANGLE WITH CUSTOM SUSPENSION. CAR WAS LOWERED USING AFTERMARKET SPRINGS AND FRONT DROP SPINDLES. I HAD ALL NEW SHOCKS INSTALLED ALL THE WAY AROUND. AFTERMARKET REV 107 OVERSIZED CORVETTE RALLY WHEELS WITH NEW TIRES FINISH OFF THE LOOK OF THE CAR. THE FRONT HAS 225/45R17S AND THE ARE 275/40R18S. ALL DRIVE TRAIN WORK WAS DONE TO MAKE THE CAR START WITH EASE AND RUN GREAT WITHOUT ISSUES.
INTERIOR
THE INTERIOR OF THIS CAR IS ALMOST ALL NEW. I HAD NEW FRONT AND REAR PERIOD CORRECT SEAT COVERS INSTALLED AND THEY LOOK LIKE THEY DID NEW IN 64. ALSO HAD NEW BLACK MOULDED CARPET INSTALLED THAT LOOKS FACTORY. DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAL PLATES AS SEEN IN PICTURES. NEW DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR PANELS AND NEW BLACK DASH PAD. THE HEADLINER HAS NO TEARS OR RIPS BUT COULD USE SOME TIGHTENING UP AND SUN VISORS WERE ALREADY IN CAR AND OUR IN GOOD SHAPE AS WELL AS THE REAR SIDE COVERS. I ALSO PURCHASED AND INSTALLED NEW DAKOTA DIGITAL DASH WITH ALL FEATURES HOOKED UP AND WORKING AS THEY SHOULD.
OVER ALL INTERIOR IS IN GREAT SHAPE AND PROVIDES A COMFORTABLE RIDE.
