.A great running chevelle you can get into at an affordable price if you like to tinker witholdies.
1972 Malibu Sport Coupe that has a sweet running 307 and I believe a turbo 350 3 speed automatic transmission. A couple #'s i found on the motorlook to readT0709DF and a casting number of 3914688. Starts right up hot or cold. I had the motor rebuiltI think it was two years ago and Itidles smooth with no knocks or smoke. Power steering and power disc front brakes. There has been a lot of money spent over the years on the car. This is a great car for someone to take to the next level if so desired. It could still use some TLC here and there. Some of what I know it could use is wipers stopped working as well as a couple outside lights. When I had the oil changed last time I told them it had an oil leak and they told me it was from the drain plug bolt but they had no rubber gasket to put over the bolt so that will need to be done. The last owner disconnected the heater, he and I never drove the car in the winter so that wasn't an issue. It also needs a speedo cable and radio speakers. The E brake works and the gas gauge works accurately. And the key buzzer still works. With some odds and ends this could be an even nicer car ! All depends what you like. I put some new and used parts in the trunk. The chrome around the front and back windows needs a few clips that is why the front chrome strip is in the trunk.
Not a museum piece but a fun good looking car !
The car hadtwo 90% rear quarters installed in the last few years along with a partial front left floor pan. I think it would have been neater to install a full one but whatever. The rest of the floor pans look to be original and decent shape. I believe the trunk had a repair but looks very neat. The car was painted a base/clear. I was told for the best optimum look it could be sanded and buffed. I found it fine like this. The car also had a new replacement vinal top installed.
The car is an original Blue car with a black vinal top and a white bucket seat interior. I will post the trim tag info as soon as I can.
The inside received a new headliner, carpet, seat covers and door panelswithin the last couple years.
It has a fairly new gas tank and also recent dual exhaust.
The car has been registered and insured in my name but I do still have the old green title I received back when I bought the car. It goes back to August 1980 when the second owner bought the car from the Original elderly woman who bought the car New. I will give that to the new owner along with Connecticut's transfer paperwork. Connecticut uses the registration and title as one along with a Bill of Sale.
