1961 Chevrolet Corvair 700 Lakewood
1961 Chevrolet Corvair 700 Description
Built for just two model years, the wagon is the rarest of all the Corvairs, accounting for less than two percent of the Corvairs ever made! These are getting harder and harder to find and are cheap and joyful to own! Painted in original Jewel Blue with a beautiful white top, the colors match the two tone blue and white interior! The patterns on the door cards and bench seats preserve the retro look of this awesome Lakewood. The color pattern really pops with all the chrome trim giving it a real vintage, classic feel! This wagon has an upgraded, rear mounted, air-cooled 164 cubic inch engine from a 1967 Corvair with only 13,000 miles on it, mated to a smooth PowerGlide transmission. Air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes were never an option on these wagons making this a lightweight, simple, cruising machine! The suspension rides smooth and straight, providing a comfortable ride no matter what the road conditions. An aftermarket radio is mounted underneath the original dash sending tunes to two speakers in the trunk area and two speakers under the driver's bench seat. This wagon will put a smile on your face in any weather, any time of the year!
