1985 Chevrolet Blazer silverado Description

My loss is your gain. On March 21st, 2018 a man attempted to enter our home by force at 2am. He was met at the door by "Mr. Beretta" and told to leave. He returned a short while later and set my collectible K5 on fire. The police captured him as he danced in the street. We had not completed the collector insurance appraisal so it is a total loss for us. No insurance pay out. The arsonist remains in jail awaiting sentencing.
This truck was purchased in August 2017 and was really a gem of a vehicle. It has a frame off restoration underneath the damaged cab and body. The frame was baked and is in perfect condition. This is project for someone with skills I do not possess. My mechanic suggests anyone with a good body will be able to swap them and enjoy a strong running 350CI motor with new carburetor, ignition and wires, solid tranny, and transfer case. New Pro comp shocks, ball joints, and BF Goodrich Tires (less than 100 miles on them). All exterior badging intact for the Silverado line. We have the original paperwork when it was sold new in California.
Vehicle is not running due to the fire. Photos show the interior of the cab was ruined and the electrical system is wrecked as a result. The two photos showing the underneath are pre fire and that portion of the vehicle was unaffected by the fire. The rest of the photos were taken on June 20, 2019.
I am told by the appraiser who valued it for the court this is now a rolling chassis and is a great donor candidate to be rebuilt. There are fiberglass bodies available and the rest of the parts are all on LMC. The K5 Blazer is one of the most collectible vehicles out there today. Only the original Ford Bronco seems to be more desirable. It is my hope someone will find this and give it a second chance.
