The third generation "C-3" Corvette is currently one of the best values in the Classic and Muscle Car market and now is the time to buy. While really nice, clean, low mileage C-3's are getting more difficult to find they are out there and can still be bought in the $20,000 price range even some with the the more rare and desirable "L-82" option. A Red 1980 L-82 just sold on eBay for $22,500 and another just sold for $20,500 both had low Miles, under 50,000 and both sold within the past ten days. This is an opportunity to buy one that fits that description at a great price making this Classic Vette a great investment. In an effort to provide as much information as I can to perspective Buyer's, I use high definition closeup photos, a description and analysis of my inspection and opinion as well as video's of it running and driving. This car runs good, really strong, powerful engine with a nice sounding Exhaust system. Performance upgrades include- Comp XE268 Cam, Hooker super competition headers, Hooker side pipes, Holley Street Dominator Intake, Edlebrock 750cc Carb, 2,500 stall and shift kit and transmission cooler. The suspension is tight and steers and handles really nice. The shift kit provides a nice crisp transition through the gears whether you're accelerating in traffic at moderate speed or opening it up on the highway. The sidepipes not only enhance the appearance with that old school Corvette look but provides a mean growl you can only get from side pipes. The pipes are fitted with STS Baffels which gives a nice deep rumble without robbing horsepower. There are no heat shields on these pipes so that's definitely something to think about when getting in and out of the car. Personally it doesn't bother me but for anyone not familiar with side pipes you may want to consider putting heat shields on them. It's easy to do and doesn't cost much. You wouldn't want your wife or children getting burned on them. I haven't had it on a Dyno so can't say with certainty how much horsepower it has but was told it's in the 360 - 375 H/P range which sounds about right for an "L-82" with the addition of headers, cam, intake and larger carb. I considered changing out the heads for a set of Vortex heads which should push it up to around 400H/P but for a daily driver it's got more than enough power now to be very enjoyable driving and it still runs on pump gas with no issues. The A/C system is in tact, compressor removed, so currently not working but can easily be hooked back up. All gauges and power options work. The undercarriage is very clean, dry and no rust anywhere! The paint has a mirror shine still as can be seen in the closeup photos. The body is in excellent condition with no cracks or damage in the fiberglass. There are some spiderweb cracks in the paint at the very tip of the plastic front bumper that can be seen in a closeup photo. Those paint cracks are only in the one spot at the tip of the front bumper where it comes to a point. The fiberglass is even in excellent condition below the front bumper in the air dam. The removable T-Tops are in very good condition, no leaks, and the storage bags for them are in the rear compartment. The interior is very clean and nice. The door panels, originally Oyster the same color as the seats were recently replaced with a new set of black panels. I have a box of new parts that will be included that includes a full set of brand new Wheel centers just like the ones on it now, two new sets of brake calipers complete ready to install ( the brakes only have about 4,000 miles on them now so no need to change anytime soon), a complete set of suspension bushing front and rear, some oil filters, a custom fit suede and canvas car cover and more miscellaneous parts. I found a really good deal on the calipers and suspension bushings so went ahead and bought them even though they weren't due for replacement.All in all it's just hard to go wrong with a nice, clean, low mileage L-82 Vette that's turn key ready and priced well below comparable cars!
