1969 Chevrolet Nova -- Description

17,823 actual mile garage find survivor! Bought new at Nickey Chevrolet in Chicago. Comes with a pile of original Nickey paperwork. Patricia Stepaneck bought this car brand new 4-21-69. We have the original proteprotect-o-plate, salesman's card, invoice, tax receipt, window sticker, paid receipt, copy of cashier's check, 2 build sheets and a bunch of misc receipts, registrations, envelopes etc. Nickey Chevrolet was established 1925 and became one of the largest Chevrolet dealers in the country. They became known for specializing... in high performance muscle car. Their service department would build muscle cars to the buyers specs. The Nickey name is now legendary. Having all this paperwork with the Nickey name is very cool. Grandma should have ordered a 427! EXTERIOR: Believed to be all original paint, never touched up. It also appears to be rust free clean metal. The paint shows very well but it does have a number of garage nicks and minor door dings. It had so much dust when pulled out of hibernation, you could tell what color it was. Up front it has original T-3 headlights. The grill, lenses, bumpers, marker lights are mint. The stainless moldings, emblems mirror, door handles are excellent. In back it has the original Nickey Chevrolet sticker on the trunk lid. The bumper, taillights are excellent. Door jambs are nice, has an oil change sticker from 1993. It has Sears replacement tires on steel rims with poverty hubcaps. Glass is excellent. INTERIOR: The inside is all original and practically still like new. It is a barebones car with a rubber floor mat, no carpet. It has the original AM radio. Overhead the headliner, visors, shoulder belts and mirror are perfect. I'm looking at the dash area, the heater controls, chrome bezels and lenses are all pristine. Door panels are mint, the upholstery is mint. 2 minor flaws- small crack in the driver's armrest pad and rear package shelf has a scuffed area, that's it! ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Replaced battery, oil filter and hoses. Everything else appears to be just as it left the factory. Never been messed with, never spray canned. The 6 cylinder runs smooth, very easy to maintain. It has power steering. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is very cool for me to see the inside of a trunk with original spatter paint from the factory. It's a rarity and this one is clean. It looks like the jack and spare have never been out of the car. The wires, housings are like new. Original weatherstrip is excellent. Has assembly line X crayon marking on latch. UNDERSIDE: Completely original, rock solid. Still has spiral shocks in back, front shocks were replaced. Has original stickers on springs. There is no rotten metal, only insignificant surface rust you would expect on an original. Has #s match Powerglide transmission. The car runs and functions smooth and proper. Recently over 100 miles were put on the car. It is an interesting car. People really enjoy seeing a survivor. The Nickey paperwork is very cool. It is only original once. With that said, this would make a great candidate to build a hot rod too. Starting with a clean virgin is always so much easier, the Nickey history would enhance it even more!
